WHY CREATING GREAT CONTENT IS IMPORTANT

"When purpose is not known, abuse is inevitable"

Myles Munroe

Think about the last time you came across a piece of

content that really caught your attention - maybe it was
an article, a video, or a social media post…

Done thinking?

Now, ask yourself what was it about that content that

made you stop scrolling and take notice?

Chances are, it was something that resonated with you,

that was informative, entertaining, or inspiring, and that
provided value in some way.

Now think about your own content..

7

Are you consistently creating content that meets these

standards?

Are you providing real value to your audience, or are you

just going through the motions and churning out content
for the sake of it?

The truth is, the internet is filled with content - some

good, some bad, and a lot of mediocre.

If you want to stand out and make an impact, you need

to create content that rises above the noise and truly
connects with your audience.

Let's look at some examples of businesses that have

succeeded by creating great content.

Take the cosmetics brand Glossier, for example.

8

Instead of relying on traditional advertising to promote

their products, they built their brand by creating a blog
and social media presence that focused on beauty,
lifestyle, and empowerment.

They created content that spoke directly to their target

audience - young, social media-savvy women - and
provided value by sharing tips, tutorials, and personal
stories. By doing so, they built a loyal following and grew
into a multimillion-dollar company.

Another example is the online retailer Zappos.

They built their brand around customer service, and

created a company culture that prioritized making
customers happy.

They also created a blog and social media presence that

focused on company culture, community involvement,
and personal growth.
9

By creating content that aligned with their values and

spoke to their target audience, they were able to build a
strong brand and loyal customer base.

These examples demonstrate the power of great content

to build a brand, engage an audience, and drive business
results.

But creating great content is not just about marketing -

it’s also about providing value and making a difference in
the world.

Let's use a metaphor to illustrate this point.

Think of your content as a gift that you're giving to your

audience.

Just like a gift, your content should be thoughtful,

personalized, and valuable.
10

It should be something that your audience is excited to

receive and eager to share with others.

And just like a gift, your content should be a reflection of

your relationship with your audience - it should
demonstrate that you understand them, care about them,
and are invested in their success.

You can also think of your content as a bridge between

you and your audience.

A well-built bridge allows people to travel from one side

to the other safely and efficiently.

Similarly, great content should help your audience move

from where they are now to where they want to be.

To build a strong bridge, you need to understand the

landscape and the needs of the people who will be using
it.

Similarly, to create great content, you need to

understand your audience and their needs.
11

This is why audience research is such a critical

component of content creation.

By understanding your audience's interests, pain points,

and aspirations, you can create content that resonates
with them and provides real value.

But building a bridge is not just about the structure - it's

also about the experience.

A bridge that is beautiful, well-designed, and enjoyable to

cross is more likely to be used and appreciated.

So also, great content should be well-crafted, visually

appealing, and enjoyable to consume.

It should be an experience that your audience looks

forward to and wants to share with others.

So, how do you create great content that is like a

well-built bridge?
12

The key is to focus on three things: relevance, value, and

authenticity.

RELEVANCE
Relevance means creating content that is tailored to your
audience's interests and needs.

This requires a deep understanding of your audience's

demographics, behaviors, and needs.

VALUE
Value means creating content that provides real benefit
to your audience.

This can take many forms - from educational content that

teaches them something new, to inspirational content
that motivates them to take action, to entertaining
content that brings a smile to their face.

Whatever form it takes, your content should always aim

to provide value to your audience.
13

AUTHENTICITY
Authenticity means creating content that is true to your
brand and your voice. It should reflect your values, your
personality, and your style.

This requires consistency in your messaging, tone, and

visual identity. It also requires you to be honest and
transparent with your audience, and to admit when you
make mistakes or fall short of your own standards.

As I close this chapter, I want you to understand that it is

not just about creating content.

And like I rightly said in one of my IG content, "If it won't

entertain, educate, inspire, or transform your audience.
Don't create it".

Because in the end, the content you create is not for you
but for your audience.

If your content is then for your audience, how then do

you understand your audience to be able to give them
what they want?

Let's find out!

14

HOW TO IDENTIFY YOUR TARGET AUDIENCE AND

WHAT THEY WANT TO SEE

“The only way to win at content marketing is for the reader to say, ‘This
was written specifically for me.’” – Jamie Turner

In the world of content creation, knowing your audience

is crucial.

If you don't understand who you're creating content for,

you risk producing irrelevant or uninteresting content
that won't resonate with your readers.

To create content that truly connects with your audience,

you need to dive deep and understand their wants,
needs, and motivations.

Your audience are like a puzzle that you need to solve.

You can't create content that speaks to them if you don't

know who they are, what they're looking for, and what
challenges they're facing.
15

To solve this puzzle, you need to gather as much

information as possible about your audience.

One way to start is by creating buyer personas.

A buyer persona is a fictional representation of your ideal

customer, based on data and research.

It includes information about demographics, interests,

pain points, and goals.

By creating a detailed buyer persona, you can get a

better understanding of your audience and tailor your
content to their needs.

Let's take an example. Imagine you're a freelance

copywriter who wants to create content for small
business owners.

You might start by creating a buyer persona for a typical

small business owner.
16

Let's call her Sarah.

Sarah is a 35-year-old woman who runs a small bakery in

a busy city.

She's passionate about baking and creating delicious

treats, but she struggles with marketing her business and
attracting new customers.

She's always on the lookout for new marketing ideas and

tips to improve her social media presence.

Now that you have a clear picture of your ideal customer,

you can start creating content that speaks to her needs.

You might write an IG carousel post titled "5 Marketing

Tips for Small Bakery Owners".

You get?

But creating buyer personas is just the beginning.

17

To truly understand your audience, you need to get to

know them on a deeper level.

One way to do this is by conducting surveys, or

interviews with your customers.

You can also gather data from social media analytics,

website analytics, and customer feedback.

Another way to understand your audience is to put

yourself in their shoes.

Imagine you're Sarah, the small business owner, what

kind of content would you find helpful and engaging?

What challenges do you face on a daily basis?

By empathizing with your audience, you can create

content that resonates with them on a personal level.
18

You must always have it at the back of your mind that

understanding your audience is like being a detective.

It's a process that requires a keen eye for detail, the

ability to think creatively, and the patience to sort
through the noise and find the truth.

Just like a detective, you need to gather clues and

investigate leads to uncover the insights that will make
your content stand out.

You might use social media analytics to identify the types

of content that resonate with your audience or conduct
customer interviews to understand their pain points and
goals.

But being a detective is more than just gathering data.

You also need to be able to see the big picture and

understand the context behind the data.
19

You might ask yourself: What does this data tell me

about Sarah's motivations and goals? How can I use this
information to create content that truly resonates with
him?

By putting the pieces of the puzzle together, you can

create content that speaks directly to your audience's
needs and interests.

You can create content that helps them achieve their

goals, solves their problems, and inspires them to take
action.

So, we now know who our audience are..

Shall we start creating content? No.

We need to address something crucial..

This is what will make you stand out from your

competition.

Let's go..
20

DEVELOPING YOUR BRAND VOICE

“Define what your brand stands for, its core values and tone of voice, and
then communicate consistently in those terms.”
Simon Mainwaring

Have you ever come across a brand that just "gets" you?
Maybe you love the way they write their copy or the
unique style of their social media posts.

This is the power of a strong brand voice.

It's the personality and tone that you use to

communicate with your audience, and it can make a big
difference in how your content is perceived.

We won't be going much deep in this but here are some

tips for developing your brand voice and crafting a
consistent tone and style across all your content.

1. Start with your brand values

Your brand voice should be an extension of your brand's

values and mission.
21

Think about what your brand stands for and how you
want to be perceived by your audience.

Are you a fun, lighthearted brand, or do you take a more

serious tone? Are you focused on providing value and
education, or do you want to entertain your audience?

2.Identify your audience's needs and preferences

Your brand voice should also take into account the needs
and preferences of your target audience.

What language and tone do they respond to? What kind

of content do they enjoy?

For example, if you're targeting a younger, more social

media-savvy audience, you may want to use a more
informal tone and include emojis and memes in your
content.
22

If your audience is more professional, you may need to

use a more polished and authoritative tone.

3.Be consistent

Consistency is key when it comes to developing your

brand voice.

Your tone and style should be consistent across all your

content, whether it's a blog post, social media post, or
email newsletter. This helps to build trust and recognition
with your audience.

One brand that excels at consistency is Apple. From their

website copy to their product descriptions, they use a
clean, simple, and elegant tone that reinforces their
brand identity.

4.Use storytelling to connect with your audience

One of the most effective ways to develop your brand

voice is through storytelling.
23

Stories help to create an emotional connection with your

audience, and can be a powerful tool for building brand
loyalty and engagement.

Take, for example, the travel company Airbnb. They use

storytelling in all their content, from their blog posts to
their social media campaigns, to showcase real-life
experiences and connect with their audience on a
personal level.

Now that we've settled the issue of our brand voice..

Now, we can start creating content but hey.. there's this

demon of generating content ideas consistently..

Let's face that demon now!!

24

11 HACKS TO NEVER RUNNING OUT OF CONTENT

IDEAS

“You need to create ridiculously good content – content that is useful,

enjoyable and inspired.”
Ann Handley

Generating new and innovative ideas for your content can

be a daunting task, especially if you're not sure where to
start.

But by using a few key strategies, you can spark your

creativity and come up with fresh ideas that resonate
with your audience.

Here are 11 proven methods for brainstorming content

ideas:

1.Garbage in, Garbage out

The old computer programming adage, "garbage in,

garbage out," applies to content creation as well.
25

The quality of your ideas is only as good as the quality of

the information you consume.

So, if you want to come up with great content ideas, you

need to start by consuming great content.

This could mean reading books, watching YouTube

videos, listening to podcasts, or following thought leaders
on social media.

By immersing yourself in high-quality content, you'll start

to develop a better sense of what resonates with your
audience and what topics are trending in your industry.

For example, let's say you're a marketing consultant who

specializes in social media.

By following influencers and thought leaders in your field,

you might notice that there's a growing trend towards
using TikTok for business marketing.
26

This could inspire you to create a social media post or

video tutorial on how to use TikTok for business, which
would be a timely and relevant topic for your audience.

2. Ask Questions

Another way to generate content ideas is to simply ask

your audience what they want to see.

Surveys, polls, and feedback forms are all great tools for
gathering feedback and insights from your followers.

You can also host "Ask Me Anything" (AMA) sessions on

social media, where your audience can submit questions
and you can provide in-depth answers.

By soliciting feedback and questions from your audience,

you'll gain a better understanding of what they're looking
for and what topics are top-of-mind for them.

For example, let's say you're a personal finance blogger

who wants to create content around saving money.
27

By hosting an AMA session on your blog or social media

channels, you might discover that your audience is
particularly interested in learning how to save money on
groceries.

Armed with this insight, you could create a series of

social media posts or videos on how to cut grocery costs
without sacrificing quality.

3. Observation

Sometimes, the best content ideas come from simply

paying attention to what's already happening in your
industry.

By observing the comment sections, DMs, and common

questions or FAQs on your website or social media
channels, you can identify patterns and trends that can
inspire new content ideas.

You can also look to other sources of inspiration, such as

industry events, conferences, or trade shows.
28

For example, let's say you're a fashion blogger who wants

to create content around sustainable fashion.

By observing the comment section on your latest blog

post, you might notice that several readers have asked
for advice on how to incorporate vintage or thrifted
pieces into their wardrobe.

This could inspire you to create a series of social media

posts or videos on how to thrift like a pro, which would
be a valuable and relevant topic for your audience.

4. Competitor's Bank

One powerful strategy for generating content ideas is to

analyze what is working well for your competitors.

By studying the comments and content of competitors in

your niche, you can identify trends, topics, and
approaches that resonate with your target audience. This
is what I call a "competitor's bank".
29

For example, let's say you run a blog about health and
wellness.

You might start by identifying a few key competitors in

your niche and reviewing their blog posts, social media
profiles, and comment sections.

Look for patterns in the types of content that get the

most engagement and feedback, as well as the language
and tone that resonates with their audience.

Perhaps you notice that one of your competitors

consistently receives a lot of comments on their posts
about veganism.

This could be a great opportunity to create similar

content for your own audience, providing your unique
perspective and adding value to the conversation.

By regularly checking in with your competitor's bank, you

can stay up-to-date on the latest trends and ideas in your
industry and ensure that your content remains relevant
and engaging.
30

5. Groups and Forums

Another great strategy for generating content ideas is to

participate in online groups and forums where your target
audience congregates.

Platforms like Facebook groups, Quora, and Reddit are

great places to listen to your audience, ask questions,
and gather ideas for your content.

For example, let's say you run a YouTube channel about

digital marketing.

You might start by joining a few relevant Facebook

groups and monitoring the conversations happening
there.

Look for common questions, concerns, and pain points

that your audience is experiencing.

Perhaps you notice that a lot of people are struggling to

understand how to use Facebook Ads effectively. This
could be a great opportunity to create a video tutorial
31

that walks your audience through the process

step-by-step.

By participating in groups and forums, you can stay

connected to your audience and ensure that your content
is relevant and helpful to their needs.

6. Search Engines

Search engines are another valuable tool for generating

content ideas.

By using features like Google's "also asked" and

YouTube's search suggestions, you can identify the
questions and topics that people are searching for related
to your niche.

For example, let's say you run a blog about personal

finance. You might start by typing "how to save money"
into the Google search bar and scrolling down to the "also
asked" section.
32

Here, you'll see a list of related questions that people are

searching for, such as "what is the 30 day rule" and
"what are 5 tips for saving money."

These questions can serve as inspiration for your next

blog or social media post or video, providing valuable
33

information to your audience and addressing their

specific concerns.

7.Using AI Tools

AI tools can be a great resource for generating content

ideas quickly and efficiently.

Platforms like Copy.ai, ContentIdeas.io, and

AnswerThePublic.com use machine learning algorithms to
analyze data and generate ideas for your content.

For example, let's say you run a social media account for
a beauty brand.

You might start by using ContentIdeas.io to generate

some ideas for your next post.

The platform might suggest topics like "10 ways to use

your eyeshadow palette," "5 easy hairstyles for busy
mornings," or "how to create a dewy makeup look."
34

These AI-generated ideas can serve as a starting point

for your content creation process and you can use your
own expertise and creativity to make them relevant and
engaging for your audience.

AI tools can help you save time and get inspired, but
they should be used in combination with other strategies
to ensure that your content is unique and valuable.

8. Brainstorming & Research

Brainstorming is a crucial step in the content creation

process. It's where you generate ideas for blog posts,
videos, social media posts, and other formats that will
engage your audience and help achieve your marketing
goals.

But how do you come up with great content ideas? Here

are some tips and strategies:

● Put Yourself in Your Audience's Shoes:

To create content that resonates with your audience, you

need to understand their wants, needs, and pain points.
Start by asking yourself questions like, "What are their
35

biggest challenges?" "What keeps them up at night?"

"What are they interested in learning more about?"

This will help you identify topics that are relevant and
useful to your target audience.

● Use the "Drop and Give Me 20" Principle:

In the military, soldiers are often asked to do push-ups

on the spot as a form of punishment or exercise.

We can apply this principle to brainstorming by listing out

20 or more problems that our audience is having that we
can solve.

It's simple.

List out 20 problems your audience are facing that you

can solve. Then start creating content on each of this
content.

This exercise forces you to think outside the box and

come up with unique and compelling content ideas.

● Create a Swipe File:

36

A swipe file is a collection of ideas and inspiration that

you can refer to when you're feeling stuck or uninspired.

This can include blog posts, articles, videos, social media

posts, and other content that you admire or find
interesting.

Use these examples as a starting point for your own

content ideas.

● Use Metaphors and Analogies:

Metaphors and analogies are powerful tools for making

complex ideas more understandable and relatable.

Think about your topic or industry and try to come up

with metaphors or analogies that help explain it in a new
and interesting way.

I have been doing this all through this book.

● Follow Industry Trends:

37

Keep up with the latest trends and news in your industry

or niche.

This will help you identify topics that are timely and
relevant to your audience.

You can also use tools like Google Trends or BuzzSumo to

see what topics are currently popular.

9. The 3 Rs - Review, Reconstruct, and Reuse

One strategy for getting more mileage out of your

content is to use the 3 Rs: Review, Reconstruct, and
Reuse.

● Review Your Analytics:

Use tools like Google Analytics or social media analytics

to track the performance of your content.

Look for patterns and insights that can help you optimize
future content.
38

● Reconstruct Your Content:

Based on your analytics, identify the content that has

performed the best and reconstruct it to make it even
better.

This might mean updating outdated information, adding

new examples or case studies, or improving the
formatting or design.

● Reuse Your Content:

Don't be afraid to repurpose your content for different

formats and channels.

For example, you can turn a blog post into a video or

infographic, or share it on social media with different
captions or visuals.

This will help you reach a wider audience and get more
value out of your existing content.
39

10. Crea-thie-fity

One of the most effective ways to generate new content

ideas is to draw inspiration from a variety of sources.

In his book "Steal Like an Artist," Austin Kleon argues

that all creative work is derivative, and that the best
artists steal from a wide range of sources.

This doesn't mean copying or plagiarizing someone else's

work. Instead, it means finding inspiration in the work of
others and using it as a jumping-off point for your own
original ideas.

So how can you practice 'creathiefity' in your content

creation process?

Start by gathering a diverse range of inputs. Read books,

watch movies, browse social media, attend conferences,
and engage in conversations with people from different
backgrounds.
40

Look for patterns and themes that emerge across

different sources of inspiration, and think about how you
can apply them to your own work.

For example, let's say you're a content creator for a tech

startup.

You're struggling to come up with new ideas for blog

posts about your product.

Instead of just reading about other tech startups, try

looking for inspiration outside of your industry.

You might read books about psychology or neuroscience

to see how those fields intersect with technology.

You might watch TED Talks about innovation or creativity

to get a fresh perspective on your work.

By expanding your sources of inspiration, you're more

likely to come up with unique and compelling content
ideas.
41

11. Inspiration

Sometimes, the best content ideas come not from

external sources, but from within.

When you're able to tap into your own creativity and

intuition, you can come up with truly original ideas that
speak to your audience in a powerful way.

One way to access this inner well of inspiration is through

meditation and silence.

Taking time to quiet your mind and focus on your breath

can help you tune out the noise of daily life and tap into
your own inner wisdom.

When your mind is calm and clear, you may find that
creative ideas bubble up to the surface without effort.
42

You may discover new connections between seemingly

unrelated concepts or see a problem in a new light.

In this way, meditation and silence can be powerful tools

for content creators who want to access their full creative
potential.

Of course, not everyone finds inspiration through

meditation and silence.

For you, it might be a long walk in nature, or listening to

music, or talking with a trusted friend or mentor.

For me, I get valuable ideas when I pray. I mean when

I'm 'kabashing', great ideas come.

The key is to find what works for you and to make time
for it in your daily routine.

For example, let's say you're a freelance writer who is

struggling to come up with fresh ideas for a client's blog.
43

Instead of forcing yourself to brainstorm ideas at your

desk, you might take a break and go for a walk in the
park.

As you walk, you allow your mind to wander, taking in the

sights and sounds around you.

Suddenly, an idea pops into your head, fully formed and

ready to be written.

Taking time to step away from your work and connect

with your own inner creativity will help you to produce
more compelling and engaging content.

Remember, content creation is not just about producing

content for the sake of it, but creating content that adds
value and engages your target audience.

One important thing to keep in mind is that not every

idea will be a winner. I mean not every content you
posted out there will be a hit.
44

In fact, many ideas will fall flat or simply not resonate

with your audience.

This is all part of the creative process, and it's important

not to get discouraged by failure. Instead, view each idea
as a learning experience, and use the insights you gain to
refine your approach and improve your content over
time.

Whoops!

That was a lot..

Now, the idea is here.. ..

Let's talk about a crucial aspect of your content creation.

45

WRITING AND EDITING

It is perfectly okay to write garbage — as long as you edit brilliantly. — C. J.

Cherryh

When it comes to content creation, writing is one of the

most important skills you can have.

Whether you're writing a blog post, a social media

update, or a video script, the words you choose and the
way you structure your sentences can make all the
difference in engaging your audience and conveying your
message effectively.

So, how can you improve your writing and editing skills?
Here are some tips to get you started:

● Keep it simple:

When it comes to writing, simplicity is key.

The more complex your sentences and vocabulary, the

harder it will be for your audience to follow along.
46

So, focus on using clear, concise language that anyone

can understand.

● Use storytelling:

One of the most effective ways to engage your audience

is through storytelling.

Whether you're writing a blog post or creating a video,

try to incorporate a narrative that connects with your
audience on an emotional level.

This could be a personal story, a customer success story,

or even a fictional story that illustrates a point.

For example, let's say you're writing a blog post about

the benefits of meditation.

Instead of simply listing the benefits, you could tell a

story about a person who struggled with stress and
anxiety until they started meditating regularly.
47

By sharing this story, you'll not only make the benefits

more relatable, but you'll also make the content more
interesting and engaging.

● Provide concrete examples:

When you're trying to explain a complex concept or idea,

it's important to provide concrete examples that your
audience can relate to.

For example, if you're writing a blog post about SEO, you

could provide examples of websites that have
successfully implemented SEO strategies and the results
they've seen.

● Use metaphors:

This is my newly found love.

Metaphors can be a powerful tool for explaining complex

ideas in a simple and relatable way.
48

For example, if you're writing about the importance of

goal setting, you could use the metaphor of a roadmap to
illustrate how setting goals can help you navigate the ups
and downs of life.

● Edit ruthlessly:

Finally, once you've written your content, it's important to

edit it ruthlessly.

This means going through your content line by line and

cutting out anything that doesn't contribute to your
message.

Look for redundant sentences, unclear language, and

anything that might confuse or bore your audience.

For example, let's say you've written a script for a video

that's three minutes long.

After reviewing it, you realize that some of the content is

repetitive or unnecessary. By cutting out those sections,
49

you can tighten up the video and make it more engaging

for your audience.

Your first content won't be perfect. Don't stop creating.

You get better as you create more content.
50

WHAT NEXT?

Ideas are useless unless used. The proof of their value is in their
implementation. Until then, they are in limbo.
Theodore Levitt

It's time to take everything you've learned into action.

Remember that learning without implementation is just as
the same as not learning at all.

Learning without implementation is like studying the rules of

the road without ever getting behind the wheel.

You might know all the signs and signals, but until you
actually start driving, you won't truly understand how to
navigate the road and make split-second decisions.

It's like memorizing the directions to a place you've never

been before but never actually taking the journey.

You might know the route on paper, but until you experience
the twists and turns for yourself, you won't truly understand
the destination.

Don't let your case be like that.

Knowing all the strategies to generating content ideas but

never creating one.

Go and create that content NOW!!

P.S:

Content creation can be a time-consuming process.

You may not have the time to go through each and every
strategy I shared in this book. It's fine. I totally understand.

In cases like this, what I recommend is having a kit with

pre-made resources like content ideas, captions, headlines,
and hooks, etc. This can save a lot of time and effort.

That's why I created The Ultimate Social Media Content

Kit

It is a collection of over 2000+ content creation resources. It

contains 300+ Content ideas, 390+ Headline templates,
Hook Templates, IG design resources, Graphic design

resources, Call to action templates, Done for you captions,

I have free video tutorials and I host a live session with

everyone who gets this kit once every month.

It's currently at ₦2000 ($4).

DON'T SKIP THIS

Influence is good but outside God, it is nothing.

For he is the giver of ideas.

This is why I'm inviting you to be a part of the family of God

on earth.

If you haven't yet surrendered your life to him, say this short
prayer with me;

"Lord Jesus, I accept you as my Lord and savior. Forgive me

my sins. Come into my heart and help me to live in
accordance with your will." Amen.

If you said this prayer, please fill the form below so I can be
praying with you.

God bless you.
