CREATIVITY, PROBLEM SOLVING AND INNOVATION

Objective
Creativity is the driving force behind innovation and problemsolving. It allows us to think outside
the box and come up with new, unique ideas that can change the world.
In today's fast-paced world, the ability to solve problemsquickly and efficiently is more important
than ever. Whether it's a technical issue or a complex business challenge, being able to identify the
root cause and find a solution is crucial.
Learning is a fundamental aspect of human life. It is the process of acquiring new knowledge,
skills, and behaviors through experience, study, or instruction. Learning is not limited to formal
education but can occur in various settings such as work, social interactions, and personal
experiences.
There are several types of learning, including cognitive, behavioral, and experiential learning.
Cognitive learning involves the acquisition of knowledge and understandingthrough mental
processes such as perception, attention, and memory.
Behavioral learning focuses on the acquisition of new behaviors through reinforcement,
punishment, and observation.Thinking fluency is a crucial skill in the world of business and
entrepreneurship. It involves the ability to generate ideas quickly and efficiently, which is essential
for success in any industry.
The key to thinking fluency is to have a strategy that allows you to come up with innovative ideas
consistently.
One such strategy is the SCAMPER technique, which is an acronym for Substitute, Combine, Adapt,
Modify, Put to another use, Eliminate, and Rearrange. This technique can be used to generate new
ideas by asking questions related to each of these categories.

and understanding. It allows us to gather information, clarify our thinking, and challenge
assumptions.
Asking the right question is particularly important in decision-making. It allows us to consider
multiple perspectives, evaluate alternative options, and anticipate potential outcomes.
By asking questions such as 'What are the risks and benefits of each option?' or 'How will this
decision impact different stakeholders?', we are able to make more informed and responsible
decisions that align with our values and goals.

Working Principal
The definition of creative problem solving (CPS) will vary between organizations. At its core, CPS
involves approaching a problem in an imaginative, innovative, and unconventional way. The
process encourages you to find new, creative ways of thinking that can help you overcome the
issue at hand more quickly.

Creative problem solving (CPS) is a way of solving problems or identifying

opportunities when conventional thinking has failed. It encourages you to find fresh
perspectives and come up with innovative solutions, so that you can formulate a
plan to overcome obstacles and reach your goals
Divergent and convergent thinking must be balanced. The key to creativity is
learning how to identify and balance divergent and convergent thinking (done
separately), and knowing when to practice each one
When you rephrase problems and challenges as open-ended questions with multiple
possibilities, it's easier to come up with solutions. Asking these types of questions
generates lots of rich information, while asking closed questions tends to elicit short
answers, such as confirmations or disagreements. Problem statements tend to
generate limited responses, or none at all.

Advantages
Finding creative solutions to complex problems: User research can insufficiently illustrate a
situation's complexity. While other innovation processes rely on this information, creative problem-
solving can yield solutions without it.
1. MORE INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS : When a company encourages creative problem solving, they
invite more innovative solutions. If employees know that they can think outside of the box, they will
do so. With time, they will get better at it. Encouraging creative solutions makes it possible for
even bigger innovations down the line

2. INCREASED APPROACHABILITY : Approachability is a major point of concern for businesses

because it determines how active employees are. Most companies want employees that are highly
engaged and can find their voices in an environment. Making an approachable environment can
make that possible, and creative problem solving might just be the key.

3. SOLUTIONS WITH LESS BIAS : Supporting diverse thinking isn’t just beneficial for
helping employees to feel heard. It is also remarkably effective at providing better
and more creative solutions. Even the most creative people will carry their biases
into a problem solving situation.More often than not, this isn’t a good thing.
4. CREATIVITY BOOSTS EMPLOYEE ENGAGMENT : Encouraging creativity can work
wonders for employee engagement. The best part is that creativity tends to build on
itself.
When creative problem solving becomes more prominent in the workplace, people
tend to get more creative. They will see these other creative solutions and start to
think more outside of the box.
5. SOLUTIONS THAT WORK : While tried-and-true methods can be beneficial, their
impact can be lost over time. It is fairly easy for effective solutions that work today
to become ‘out-of-date solutions’ tomorrow. This is because businesses are
beginning to innovate incredibly fast. Creative problem solving solutions can often
be solutions that work much more effectively.

Limitations
 Lack of Employee Engagement.

 Lack of Weak Ties

 Lack of Creative Space.
 Lack of Psychological Safety
