As part of ongoing product improvements, a revised version of the POL-100 interface firmware has been
released. Here is a brief reminder of the value of the POL-100 device, if you want to know more, please
click here to download the original launch bulletin.

 Reduce the time it takes to commission new TC800 or System Sensor


Protocol systems
 Reduce the time taken to find loop related issues on existing systems and
upgrades
 Reduce the risk of margin erosion by allowing you to pre-commission
the system prior to the arrival of the control panel on site

two projects - from then on it
creates margin for you!

What’s New?

 New version (090712) of Interface software now available - prevents device mapping issues
 Revised upgrade advice for Windows 7 users – easier to upgrade
 Revised default settings for the POL-100 – avoids spurious duplicate address faults
o Default timings need to be changed from:
 T.Measure I from 50 to 65 microseconds
 T.Measure Initial from 50 to 65 microseconds
 Updated manual with more handy hints to – help reduce the time taken to find faults
 Known Issues List updated with new known issues and workarounds

Action to Take
Please visit the team room, download the revised zip “POL-100_Software_Firmware_SUB_Manual.zip”,
review the revised POL-100 Upgrade Guide PDF, update your POL-100 and adjust the default settings as
per the guide and revised engineering instructions.

If you have not downloaded POL-100 software before, you will not see the folder called
“Latest_Software_Firmware” which contains the above zip file. In that event please email me to request
access to reveal this folder.

Is there any technical guidance for migrating FS90 systems to XLS80e?


Correct operation with older devices and field related faults are the first thing you should consider. If these
have not been taken into account, you could encounter many unforeseen issues – check with the designer

within the word document and then download the files you want to view. Within the zip file is a windows
media file that will run on windows media player that you can view whenever you get time – it is that
simple!

the offering?
Yes there is. It contains easy to find answers to engineering specific problems or ‘how to’ information. It
is structured in such a way as to help you get to the information you need, fast. There are links to further
information as well as imbedded images. As and when changes are made, the document is updated.
