Read about the water cycle and then answer the questions.

The water cycle


We use Earth’s water over and over again. The water moves around and around in the water cycle.
Water evaporates from oceans, rivers and lakes. The liquid water changes to water vapour, which
is a gas that you cannot see. Water also evaporates from plant leaves. This is called transpiration.

The water vapour rises into the air and cools to form clouds. When the clouds get heavy with
water droplets, the droplets fall to the ground as rain, snow or hail, depending on the temperature.
This water can flow into a stream or river which will carry it to a lake or sea. Some water will soak
into the Earth’s surface and be stored underground.
