WORKING DAYS AND HOURS 1) Classes are held from 8.30 a.m. to 3.55 p.m. with lunch break of half-an-hour. The timings may be changed at the discretion of the management. 2) Students must be punctual for each lecture class and laboratory class. Late Comers are not allowed. 3) They should come back to their respective classes without any delay after the break periods.
ATTENDANCE RULES 1) Attendance for regular classes and tests is compulsory. Absentees for the test must take up retest, which will be conducted after the class hours. 2) Attendance will be marked for every period. No student should be absent without prior application and endorsement for leave must be counter signed by the parents or guardians before availing leave. 3) Absence for five consecutive days without prior sanction will result the students name being struck off from the rolls. 4) Re-admission is possible only after the parent / guardian approaches the Principal in person. AWARD OF INTERNAL MARKS The internal marks (20 marks out of 100) will be awarded purely based on the attendance of the students and their performance in the cycle tests and model examinations as per the norms and guidelines of Anna University of Technology Chennai. Students with less than 75% attendance will not be allowed for writing University exams. IDENTITY CARDS 1) Identity cards will be issued to all the students. The identity card should be brought to the college daily and should be worn by the student. If the card is lost, new one will be issued on payment of Rs.50/1
LIBRARY: Students will be issued Library cards against which library books can be borrowed. Library will remain open till 5.00pm. Students are expected to well utilize the library. Text books, records, Instruments and lab coat will be distributed to all first year students. INSDUSTRIAL VISIT: Industrial visits are organized by respective department of the students. Students are expected to behave well when they take part in such activities. SCHOLARSHIPS 1) Students who are admitted under Government Quota, belonging to the following category are awarded scholarship a. SC / ST students b. BC, MBA and DNC Communities

COLLEGE TRANSPORT FACILITY 1) The students who have not paid the bus fees are strictly not allowed to travel by the college bus. 2) The details of the bus routes, timings and fees structure are available in our College web site, i.e., www. siet.edu.in 3) The students while traveling by college bus are expected to behave decently and keep up the name of the college. Severe action will be taken on students who fail to maintain discipline in the bus. TRAIN / BUS STUDENTS TRAVEL CONCESSION: 1) Students should apply for their respective season ticket / concession ticket / certificate in the prescribed format in the college office. 2) The certificates are issued to the students during breaks or lunch breaks on all working days. 3) Students not adhering to the stipulated rules and regulations of bus / railway authorities or those traveling without tickets or misusing their season tickets or causing annoyance to the bus / railway authorities will be severely dealt with. The punishment may even be expulsion from the college. 4) Students should carry their identity cards issued to them while traveling, to establish their bonafide identity as students. DRESS CODE 1) Boys are expected to wear color pants with their shirts neatly tucked in. They should wear shoes. T-Shirts, baggy pants, Jeans Pants and such apparels should not be worn to the college. Bathroom chappals or slippers are not allowed. 2) Girls are expected to wear chudidhars with duppatta of a convenient length, pinned on both sides. Parallels and short chudidhars are not allowed. They should plait their hair. Floated hair is not allowed. Girls should wear black cut-shoes. 3) Both boys and girls should wear overcoats and shoes during the laboratory hours. E-GOVERNENCE The parents are requested to update their mobile numbers, as we have been sending the information regarding their wards through SMS. Also, the parents will be informed about their wards discipline, attendance and performance in the tests through their e-mail ids. Separate mail ids will be created for both the students and their parents. GENERAL 1) Usage of cell phones is strictly prohibited inside the college campus including college buses & Hostels. Even possession of cell phones is a punishable act in the case of students under Anna University Rules and Regulations. 2) Students are strictly warned and strongly advised not to indulge in celebrations of any kind in the college campus. 3) Annual fees should be paid in the office only through Demand Draft in favour of Srinivasa Institute of Engineering & Technology on or before JUNE 10th of every year. 4) Stationery items, Xerox and telephone facility are available in the campus. 5) Tiffin token (Rs.260/- only) or noon meals token (Rs.400/- only) or both (Rs.660/only) on monthly basis can be obtained from the office. 6) Bonafide certificates / fees structure will be issued to the students during Lunch or Tea Breaks only on request.
