Geometrical Shapes

Assalamu'alaikum Wr. Wb. Good morning. Let me introduce myself. My name is Putra
Anom Sundoro. Today, I want to explain Geometric Shapes. Geometric shapes are images that
represent different shapes of objects. Some are two-dimensional, and some are three-
dimensional. Two-dimensional images only lie on the x-axis and y-axis, but 3d shapes lie on the
x, y, and z-axes. Where the z-axis shows the height of the object. In the field of geometry, two-
dimensional shapes are flat shapes that are closed figures such as circles, squares, rectangles,
rhombuses, and so on. Whereas in solid geometry, three-dimensional shapes are cubes, blocks,
cones, spheres, and cylinders.

There are several Two Dimensional Geometric Shapes. Firstly, a Triangle is a polygon,
which is made of three sides and consists of three edges and three vertices. Also, the sum of its
internal angles equals 180 degrees. The second circle, circle is the locus of all points at a certain
distance from the reference center point. The three squares/squares are quadrilaterals where all
four sides and angles are equal and the angles at all vertices are equal every 90 degrees. Next, A
rectangle is a quadrilateral with two pairs of opposite sides that are the same length and interior
angles are right angles to each other. And finally, the parallelogram, parallelogram is a
quadrilateral with two pairs of parallel sides and opposite angles that are equal.

Next Three Dimensional Geometric Shapes. First, a Cube is a three-dimensional plane

shape that has 6 faces, 8 vertices, and 12 edges. The face of the cube is square. A block is also a
three-dimensional solid that has 6 sides, 8 points, and 12 sides, but the sides of the block are
rectangular. A cone is a solid body whose base is circular and narrows smoothly from the surface
upwards at a point called the apex or vertex. A tube is a 3d solid shape having two parallel
circular bases connected by a curved surface. It has no knots. A ball is a spherical shape in the 3d
plane, whose radius is extended into three dimensions (x-axis, y-axis, and z-axis).

We often see the application of geometrical shapes in everyday life and we can observe
them. For example books (cube shape), glass (cylinder shape), traffic cones (cone shape) and so
on. A shape is nothing but a simple geometric figure that has a defined boundary, and an interior
and exterior surface area. In geometry, you can study various shapes and their properties.

This is my presentation about Geometrical Shapes. I hope you understand what I

explaining. Sorry if there are mistakes when I speak, thank you for your attention.
Wassalamu'alaikum Wr. Wb.
