COC 3 SET UP COMPUTER SERVER

SERVER PC

Enabling Remote Desktop

1. Open Server Manager


2. Select Local Server
3. Go to Remote Desktop, click Disabled.
4. Click Allow, then Click OK button.
5. Click Apply and OK.
6. Close

Installing Roles

1. Open Server Manager


2. In dashboard, see add roles and features or click manage for add roles and
features
3. Click add roles and features
4. Next
5. Select role base or feature based installation, click next.
6. Next
7. In select server roles, please check the following.
8. Active Directory Domain Services, Add features.
9. DHCP Server, Add features.
10. DNS Server, Add features.
11. Remote Desktop Services, Add features.
12. Print and Document Services, Add features.
13. Web Server (IIS), Add features.
14. Click Next.
15. Next until role services
16. Click install.
17. Wait to complete install.
18. Done and close.

Configuring Active Directory Domain Services

1. Open Server Manager


1. Select Notification (Flag Icon, upper right)
2. Select promote this server to domain controller
3. In deployment configuration, select add a new forest.
4. In root domain name, write your root domain name in textbox (ex. css.org).
5. Click next.
6. In domain controller options, write your password and confirm password
(ex. Admin1234)
7. Click Next.
8. Next
9. Next
10. Next
11. Next
12. Click install button.
13. Appear you’re about to be signed out, click close.
14. Click close
15. Restart
16. Just wait the restarting of Computer Server
17. PC start, press CTRL + ALT + DEL to log in, and write Server PC
password (password created during installation of windows server (ex.
css_nc2), and press Enter Button.
18. Done.

Configuring DHCP Server

1. Open Server Manager


2. Select Notification (Flag Icon, upper right)
3. Select Complete DHCP Configuration
4. Click next
5. Click Commit Button
6. Click Close
7. Select DHCP in Left side of Dashboard.
8. In servers phase, right click the server name.
9. Click DHCP manager.
10. Under the DHCP, expand your server name.
11. Expand the IPV4, select IPV4.
12. Right click, click new Scope.
13. Click next.
14. In scope name, write your scope name (ex. scope_css)
15. Click next.
16. In address range, write the Start IP address and End IP address (ex.
start [192.168.1.121]; end [192.168.1.130])
Note: make the scope IP address are not the same in IP address of Server
and client.
Additional: available IP: 0-254, total of 255
17. Click next.
18. Next
19. Next
20. Next
21. In Router (Default Gateway), right IP address of your router (ex.
192.168.1.1)
Note: check your Router IP address.
22. Click add button.
23. Click next

26. Next
27. Click Finish
28. In IPv4, select Scope then Address Pool. The start and end IP address
showed.
29. Done
30. After configure DHCP server, back to network.
31. Click open network and sharing center.
32. Select change adapter settings
33. In Ethernet, right click then Properties.
34. Select IPV4, click properties.
35. Change preferred DNS server [Local Host IP Address 127.0.0.1] to IP
Address of server.
36. Click ok and close.
37. Select Ethernet and right click disable then right click enable to
refresh and update.

*Checking Update the IP of DNS Server


1. Open DOS command
2. Press windows + R then run the CMD (command prompt)
3. Write ipconfig/all then Enter.
4. Check the DNS Servers if it change from Local Host to Static Server IP
Address
5. Close window and done.

CONFIGURING DNS SERVER


 Forward Lookup Zone
 Reverse Lookup Zone
 Loop Back IP Address

Forward Lookup Zone


1. Open Server Manager
2. Select DNS in Left side of Dashboard.
3. In servers phase, right click the server name.
4. Select DNS Manager
5. Under DNS, expand the Server Name.
6. In Forward Lookup Zones, expand it.
7. Select the domain name (ex. css.com) folder
8. In container, right click the Server name (ex. yourname-server) and
properties
9. Check the update associated pointer (PTR) record
10. Click apply and ok.
11. Click ok

Server IP Address
1. In Reverse Lookup Zone, select.
2. Right click and click new zone.
3. Next
4. Primary zone, click next.
5. Next
6. IPv4 reverse lookup zone, click next.
7. Under reverse lookup zone name
8. Write the Server IP Address (Note: 3 octet IP address [ex. 192.168.1]) in
Network ID, Click next.
9. Next and Finish.
10. In Server IP Address reverse lookup zone
11. Expand the reverse lookup zone, select the reverse IP address
[1.168.192]
12. Right click, select New Pointer (PTR)
13. In host IP Address add the missing octet IP address. (ex. 192.168.1
add the missing 192.168.1.100)
14. Click browse
15. Select the server name and go to record types and change and select
to all records
16. Double click the server name, double click forward lookup folder zone,
and double click the domain name folder.
17. Select the Start of Authority (SOA), click OK.
18. Click OK.

LocalHost IP Address
1. In Reverse Lookup Zone, select.
2. Right click and click new zone.
3. Next
4. Primary zone, click next.
5. Next
6. IPv4 reverse lookup zone, click next.
7. Under reverse lookup zone name
8. Write the Server IP Address (Note: 3 octet IP address [ex. 127.0.0.]) in
Network ID, Click next.
9. Next and Finish
10. In Server IP Address reverse lookup zone
11. Expand the reverse lookup zone, select the reverse IP address
[0.0.127]
12. Right click, select New Pointer (PTR)
13. In host IP Address add the missing octet IP address. (ex. 127.0.0. add
the missing 127.0.0.1)
14. Click browse
15. Select the server name and go to record types and change and select
to all records
16. Double click the server name, double click forward lookup folder zone,
and double click the domain name folder.
17. Select the Start of Authority (SOA), click OK.
18. Click OK.

FILE & STORAGE SERVICES

1. Open Server Manager


2. Select FILE & STORAGE SERVICES in Left side of Dashboard.
3. In servers phase, right click the server name.
4. Select the Add Roles and Features and click Next.
5. Select role base or feature based installation, click next.
6. Next
7. In select server roles, in File and Storage Services. Please expand.
8. Expand the File and iSCI Services, check the File Server Resource Manager.
9. Add features
10. Next
11. Next and check the checkbox upper portion then click yes button.
12. Click Install.
13. Wait to complete load.
14. Close
15. Done

Creating (Two (2) Organizational Unit and Four (4) User Account)

1. Open Server Manager


2. Click Tools
3. Select Active Directory Users and Computers
4. In domain name, expand it.
5. Right click the domain name
6. Select new and select Organizational unit
7. Uncheck the box
8. In name, write (AdminDepartment), click OK.
9. Create another Organizational unit
10. Right click the domain name
11. Select new and select Organizational unit
12. Uncheck the box
13. In name, write (ITDepartment), click OK.
14. Select Users Folder
15. Under Administrator, right click.
16. Click Copy
17. Fill in First Name and Last Name, logon name (ex. yourname1)
18. Click Next
19. Write Password and Confirm Password (ex. Admin1234) then check
the password never expires.
20. Create another user
21. Under Administrator, right click.
22. Click Copy
23. Fill in First Name and Last Name, logon name (ex. yourname1)
24. Click Next
25. Write Password and Confirm Password (ex. Admin1234) then check
the password never expires.
26. Highlight the created two Users then hold the CTRL key
27. Drag to Organizational Unit folder (AdminDepartment) and release
then click yes button.
28. Done
29. Select Users Folder
30. Under Administrator, right click.
31. Click Copy
32. Fill in First Name and Last Name, logon name (ex. yourname1)
33. Click Next
34. Write Password and Confirm Password (ex. Admin1234) then check
the password never expires.
35. Create another user
36. Under Administrator, right click.
37. Click Copy
38. Fill in First Name and Last Name, logon name (ex. yourname1)
39. Click Next
40. Write Password and Confirm Password (ex. Admin1234) then check
the password never expires.
41. Highlight the created two Users then hold the CTRL key
42. Drag to Organizational Unit folder (ITDepartment) and release then
click yes button.
43. Done

CREATING FOLDER REDIRECTION

1. CTRL + E or Click the File Explorer


2. Open LocalDisk C
3. Right click New then folder
4. Rename REDIRECTION
5. Right click the folder of REDIRECTION then click properties.
6. Select Sharing Tab.
7. Click Advanced Sharing
8. Check the shared this folder
9. Click permission button
10. Highlight Everyone and click remove button.
11. Click Add button
12. Type au in textbox and click check names
13. Click OK
14. Select Authenticated User
15. Select full control in allow
16. Click Apply and OK
17. Click Apply and OK
18. Security Tab
19. Click Edit Button
20. Click Add Button
21. Type au in textbox and click check names
22. Click OK
23. Select Authenticated User
24. Select full control in allow
25. Click Apply and OK
26. Back in sharing tab
27. In network Path, highlight and Copy (ex. //server/REDIRECTION)
28. Done
CONFIGURING OF GROUP POLICY MANAGEMENT (GPO)

1. Open Server Manager


2. Click Tools
3. Select the GROUP POLICY MANAGEMENT
4. Inside of GROUP POLICY MANAGEMENT
5. Expand the Forest Domain Name
6. Expand the domain
7. Expand the Domain name (ex css.com)

Admin Department
8. Select the AdminDepartment
9. In container, right side look for delegation tab.
10. Click advance button
11. Highlight the authenticated user, select the full control in allow
column.
12. Click apply and OK
13. Right the AdminDepartment
14. Click create a GPO in the domain, and link it here.
15. In GPO, rename write Gpo1_Admin
16. Click OK button
17. Expand the AdminDepartment
18. Click Gpo1_Admin and click OK.
19. Select delegation tab
20. Select authentication user and click advance button
21. Highlight authentication user and select full control in allow column
22. Click apply and OK
23. Right the AdminDepartment
24. Click enforced
25. Right the AdminDepartment
26. Click edit
27. Focus on User Configuration, expand Policies
28. Expand windows settings
29. Expand folder redirection
30. Select desktop and right click properties
31. Settings, select BASIC
32. Go to root path and paste the network path (note: creating folder
redirection no# 27)
33. Setting tab, un check all check box and click YES button and OK
34. Same in Documents, Select documents and right click properties
35. Settings, select BASIC

IT Department
40. Select the ITDepartment
41. In container, right side look for delegation tab.
42. Click advance button

46. Click create a GPO in the domain, and link it here.
47. In GPO, rename write Gpo2_IT
48. Click OK button
49. Expand the ITDepartment
50. Click Gpo2_IT and click OK.

53. Highlight authentication user and select full control in allow column
54. Click apply and OK
55. Right the ITDepartment
56. Click enforced

59. Focus on User Configuration, expad Policies

63. Settings, select BASIC
64. Go to root path and paste the network path (note: creating folder

65. Setting tab, un check all check box and click YES button and OK

GROUP POLICY UPDATE : gpupdate/force

1. Windows +R
2. Run CMD
3. Type gpupdate/force
4. Wait to success update
5. Close
CLIENT PC

JOINING THE CLIENT TO A PROMOTE DOMAIN (ex. css.org)

1. Start PC Client
2. Right click the network icon and click open network and sharing center
3. Click the change adapter settings
4. Right click Ethernet and click properties
5. Uncheck IPv6
6. Select the IPv4 and click properties
Note: Client IP Address must in Dynamic IP address which means PC give IP
address automatically.
7. Select the use the following DNS Server Address and write the Server IP
address (ex. 192.168.1.100)
8. Click OK and close
9. Refresh the Ethernet ( Disable and Enable the Ethernet)
10. Close
11. Window + E
12. Go to This PC and right click and properties
13. Select Change Settings
14. Click change button
15. Click Domain
16. Write the domain name in textbox (ex. css.com)
17. Enter the UserName and Pasword (Remember: [Username:
Adinistrator and Password: css_nc2)]
18. Click OK
19. Click OK
20. Click OK
21. Close
22. Restarting PC
23. Open the Client PC (No password)
24. Done

SWITCH USER
1. ALT + F4
2. Select User and click OK
3. Select Other User
4. Login User Account (ex. username: ricardo1; password: Admin1234)
5. Create New Folder
6. Create New Document
7. Done
