Disaster, is an unexpected events with seriously destructive consequences.

There are two types of

disasters that can have affect environment Such as natural disaster and artificial disaster. Also every
organization they need to have disaster management where by disaster management refers to the
organization and management of resources and responsibilities for dealing with all humanitarian aspect
of emergencies in particular preparedness , response and recovery in order to lessen the impact of
disaster.

Natural disaster, refers to the type of disaster occurred naturally resulting from natural forces. The
following are the example of natural disaster.

Hurricane/Cyclone/Typhoon: These powerful storms can result in widespread destruction of

ecosystems, coastal erosion, and contamination of water bodies due to storm surges also can cause
high winds, heavy rainfall, , and flooding.

Earthquake: Earthquakes occur when there is a sudden release of energy in the Earth's crust, resulting
in shaking of the ground. Earthquake can cause soil liquefaction, and disrupt water sources, leading to
widespread destruction and contamination, damage to buildings, landslides, and tsunamis in coastal
areas.

Flood: Heavy rainfall ,coastal storms or overflow of water onto normally dry land can cause
flooding.sometimes flood can be caused by melting snow and dam failures.flood leading to erosion, loss
of vegetation, and contamination of water sources due to increased sediment and pollutants. Also can
lead to property damage, infrastructure destruction and loss of llife.

Volcanic eruptions: Volcanic eruptions occur when molten rock, volcanic ash, and gases are released
from a volcano. They can cause ashfall, pyroclastic flows, lava flows, volcanic gases, and lahars (volcanic
mudflows). The impact of volcanic eruptions depends on the intensity and type of eruption.

Not only but also other type is artificial disaster or man_made disaster, refers to the type of disaster
that caused by human influence. It includes;

Drought: Prolonged periods of little to no rainfall can lead to soil degradation, desertification, and loss
of vegetation, impacting agriculture, ecosystems, and water availability.in order to make absence of
drought there is a need of giving education about reforestation.

Chemical Spills: Accidents involving hazardous chemicals can contaminate soil, water, and air, leading
to long-term damage to ecosystems and posing risks to human health.

Vandalism: this refers to the action involving deliberate destruction of or damage to public or private
property. In order to protect public and private property the organization needs to encourage ethical
behaviors to there staff to avoid vandalism and theft .
Technology related: such as a malfunction of hardware and/or software, viruses from damaged or
corrupted computer files, electromagnetic interference.

Therefore, those are the types and example of disaster we need knowledge and skills that helps to
manage disaster in our environment in order to protect vital information, to prevent the event from
occuring ,to secure business site and facilities ,to recover lost or damaged record or information after
disaster ,to ensure safety of all employees and visitors ,as well as to reduce the risk of disaster caused by
human error ,deliberate ,and building or equipment facilities.
