NETWORKS AND THE

EFFECT OF USING
HUBS
1. Hubs are hardware devices that can have several devices or computers connected to
them.
2. Its main task is to take any data packet received at one of its ports.
3. Using the hub is not a secure or efficient way.

SWITCHES:
1. Switches are like hubs but are much more efficient in the way that they distribute
packets.
2. As with hubs, they connect several devices to form a LAN.
3. Each device or computer has a MAC address.

BRIDGE:
1. Bridges are devices that connect one LAN to another LAN that use the same.
2. Bridges tend to be used to interconnected LANs.

ROUTER:
1. Routers Enable data package between different networks.
2. Join a LAN to WAN.
3. The router’s main function is to transmit internet.
4. Every computer on the same network has the same IP address.

DATA PACKETS:
1. The data is carried in the packets according to which the data is control.
2. The information allow the router to oackage the data.
3. It checkes the IP address.
4. The routing table stores the MAC address of the file.

OTHER HARDWARE:
1. A GATEWAY IS AN ENTRANCE POINT THAT ACT AS AN ENTRANCE.
2. It is a key point for its data on its way.
3. If a network node needs to communicate outside it needs gateway.
4. A NIC is needed to allow a device to connect to a network.
5. It usually part of the hardware contains MAC address.
6. Many computer systems used WiFi, network cables are still used.
7. Faster data transfer.
8. Can be more secure.
IP AND MAC ADDRESSES:
1. Each device given a unique address known as IP address.
2. Ip ADDRESS IS ASSIGNES BY THE isp AND IS UNIQUES FOR THAT
PARTICULAR.
3. MAC address is a unique number that identifies a device connected to the internet.
4. The IP address gives the location of a device whereas MAC address identifies the
device connected.

WiFi/BLUETOOTH:
1. A wireless transmitter receives information from a network via connection.
2. Bluetooth sends and receives radio waves in band of 79 different frequencies.
3. Spread spectrum frequency using.
4. Bluetooth creates small WPAN.

How to set up and configure small networks:

1. Setting up an ip account Is required.
2. Setting up system
3.
