    Assessment details:
    You have now completed your MBA qualification and apply for a job in a listed company (Please
    choose any one of the listed company from Dhaka Stock Exchange, link:
    https://www.dsebd.org/company%20listing.php and visit company web-site for detail information).
    As a part of the recruitment process, they have asked you to write an Individual essay addressing the
    following two questions (total marks 25):
    1. How your accounting knowledge can help to understand the company’s accounting
    practice (you need to research their financial statements, i.e., Balance sheet, Income
    Statement, Cash Flow Statements, Statement of Change in Equity, Directors
    Declerations, notes etc.) – Marks 10
    2. Suggest how your chosen company can prepare (if they are not presently using SDGs) or
    improve (if they are presently using SDGs) report(s) based on the Sustainable Development
    Goals (SDGs) – Marks 15

    Additional guidance:
    There is no right or wrong answer in this assignment. Marks will be based on your understanding,
    critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity and communication skills. This individual essay will
    reflect your personal view based on subject content, research evidence, and web-based information.
    In general, the essay is expected to draw on:
     Question No 1: Financial statements of the chosen company and your understanding of
    accounting course (Format of accounts, Merchandise vs Manufacturing business, Inventory
    valuation methods, Depreciation methods, Chance of having fraud in Business, Ratio analysis,
    etc.) – Conceptual question (Difficulty level: Moderate) – Marks 10

     Question No 2: Articles on SDGs, web sites, academic journals. As a starting point you can

    Other Information:

     The entire essay should not exceed 2500 words (+/- 10 %) (excluding title page, reference
    list, footnotes, endnotes and appendices). A reference list is a MUST.
     Please provide your name, student id, class date, time and word count on the cover sheet.
