TDI EXCEL WEEK 2 ASSIGNMENT FOR BEGINNERS

Welcome to the Excel Week 2 assignment on cell references, comparison operators and Basic
Functions and Formulas. In this assignment, you will be provided with a dataset containing
various columns such as Transaction ID, Date, Customer ID, Gender, Age, Product Category,
Quantity for jan-1, Jan -8, jan-15, Price per Unit. Your task is to utilize this dataset to answer the
following questions related to Excel's fundamental concepts of cell references, comparison
Operators and Basic Functions and Formulas.
After which you are expected to move to part C for submission mode and part D for details for
correction classes.

Dataset Description:
Transaction ID: Unique identifier for each transaction.
Date: Date of the transaction.
Customer ID: Unique identifier for each customer.
Gender: Gender of the customer (e.g., Male, Female).
Age: Age of the customer.
Product Category: Category of the product purchased.
Quantity Jan- 1, jan-8, jan-15: Quantity of the product purchased for January in each transaction.
Price per Unit: Price per unit of the product.

Fundamental concepts of cell references, comparison Operators and Basic Functions and
Formulas.
1. Explain what a cell reference is in Excel and why it's important in creating formulas and
functions.
2. Differentiate between relative and absolute cell references in Excel. Provide examples of
when each type of reference would be used.
3. Discuss the significance of mixed cell references in Excel formulas and how they differ
from absolute and relative references.
4. Calculate the total revenue for transactions where the quantity of products purchased is
greater than 10.
5. Explain the difference between a formula and a function in Excel. Provide an example of
each using the dataset.
6. Use cell references to calculate the revenue for the first three transactions in the dataset
(Jan 1,8 and 15)
7. Create a formula to calculate the total revenue for each transaction in the dataset.
8. Calculate the sum of the total revenue for all transactions.
9. Calculate the product of the Jan-1 quantity and price per unit for Food category.
10. Determine the average age of customers in the dataset.
11. Round the total revenue to the nearest whole number.
12. Round down the total revenue to the nearest integer.
13. Round up the total revenue to the nearest integer.
14. What is the number of transactions in the dataset.
15. What is total the number of non-empty cells in the "Product Category" column.
16. Find the minimum age among the customers in the dataset.
17. Find the maximum total revenue among all transactions.
18. Calculate the square root of the total revenue.
19. Raise the total revenue to the power of 2.

PART C

You are expected to submit your assignment a week after it was given, with this, Submission
starts from Friday 3rd May 7am Nigerian time to Saturday 4th May 3pm Nigerian time.
