Zero conditional
We use the zero conditional to talk about things that
are generally true, especially for laws and rules.

First conditional
We use the first conditional when we talk about specific
situations. It's used to talk about things which might happen
in the future.

If / when (present simple) , ( will / might / could / may+ verb)


When the babysitter arrives, I’ll leave.

I won't stay in London if I don’t get a well-paid job.

I'll give you a key if I'm not at home.

Change the sentence with “unless“

Children will be sick if they don't stop eating junk food.

If you don't save some money, you can't go on holidays.

You will feel cold if you don't wear a coat

I'll arrive at 10am if there isn't traffic

I'll be annoyed if I do not arrive at 10am

If it doesn’t rain tonight, the match will start at 9 o’clock tomorrow

Karen will catch a cold, if she doesn’t wear a sweater.
