ABSTRACT Background: Adolescent Iathers are in need oI guidance just as adolescent mother does. Objective: The aim oI the study was to determine iI there is a relationship exists between the psychosocial adjustments and the assumption oI paternal roles oI adolescent Iathers. Method: A quantitative research design speciIically descriptive correlational was used Ior this study oI 70 adolescent Iathers. Non-probability sampling was used in order to obtain the respondents speciIically purposive sampling technique with the Iollowing criteria: (1) IiIteen to nineteen years old since adolescent Iathers come Irom all racial backgrounds and varying age groups, averaging between 15 and 19 years old, (2) with at least one child regardless oI the age, (3) respondents must be residing with his partner and child, (4) can either be married or not married to their partners, (5) either living with their parents or are living separately Irom them and (6) residents oI San Juan City or Tondo, Manila. A researcher made tool entitled Psychosocial Adjustments and assumption oI Paternal Roles Tool was used in the study. The data were analyzed using arithmetic mean and Pearson Moment Correlation. Results: The results revealed that adolescent Iathers still have a good level oI adjustment with regards to his Iamily and peers and have a very good level oI adjustment with their partner. In terms oI the assumption oI roles, they have a very good level oI parenting in assuming their role oI interaction (parent and child interacting one on one), and responsibility. It was also Iound out that there is a positive strong relationship between the psychosocial adjustment and assumption oI paternal roles oI adolescent Iathers. Conclusion: Based on the Iindings oI the study, the researchers concluded that there is a relationship between psychosocial adjustments and the paternal roles oI adolescent Iathers.
