Archie Math DLP

The document outlines a mathematics lesson plan on estimating quotients of 3 to 4 digit dividends divided by 1 to 2 digit divisors. It includes objectives, subject matter, procedures, activities, evaluation, and assignment. Students will learn to estimate quotients through rounding and adjusting their estimates based on the remaining digits. They will complete example estimates and word problems to practice the skill.

A. DAILY ROUTINE

 PRAYER
Okay class lets all stand up for our opening (the students stands)
prayer In the name of the father the son and
 GREETINGS the holy spirit AMEN.

Class is there any absent today None sir! there is no absent sir .

B.PRIMING ACTIVATING KNOWLEDGE

 REVIEW
Class did you remember our previous lesson? Yes sir!
Okay what was that all about?
Sir its all about rounding the numbers
Very good , our lesson yesterday is about rounding to the highest place value.
numbers to the highest place value for
Example: . 36 the highest place value of 36 are Sir!

Who wants to answer

Sir the highest place value of 36 is 3

Okay Carlo whats the answer

123,123 good Job

Very good Carlo! class lets give Carlo a good job clap

 MOTIVATION

Sir!

There is a lot of trees sir

1.what do you see in the picture?
Okay Chelleseh what is in the picture ?

Okay there is a lot of trees very good Chelleseh

2.where can we usually find farmers?

Who wants to answer? okay Joshua what is the answer? Sir we usually see farmers at the farm
or mountain
Very good Joshua

Okay class lets proceed to our next topic , and our topic is
all about estimating the quotient of 3 to 4 digit dividends
by 1 to 2 digit divisor with reasonable result

Estimating the quotient of 3- to 4-digit dividends by 1- to

2-digit divisors involves using a method called estimation
division. This method allows you to quickly approximate
the quotient without performing the exact division. Here's
how you can estimate the quotient:

1. Divide the Dividend by the Divisor: Start by dividing the

first digit of the dividend by the divisor. This will give you a
estimate of the quotient.
2. Adjustment: Depending on the remaining digits in the
dividend, you may need to adjust your estimate. If the
remaining digits are significantly smaller than the divisor,
you may need to adjust your estimate downwards. If the
remaining digits are closer to the divisor, you may need to
adjust your estimate upwards. 3. Check the
Reasonableness: After making adjustments, check if your
estimated quotient is reasonable. It should be close to the
actual quotient but does not need to be exact.

C.LESSON DEVELOPMENT

 ACTIVITY
Okay class we will have our activity, get one sheet of paper
and answer this.
Instruction: estimate the quotient.
1) 4234÷51=
2) 5658÷29=
3) 248÷36=
4) 6718÷74=
5) 37,820÷44=
I will give you a 5 minutes to answer this , after 5 minutes
we will check it.

Okay class exchange your paper to your sit mate

Whats the answer in number 1
Sir my answer is 80
Brane what is your answer
Is the answer in number 1 is 80? Yes sir !
Okay correct very good Brane

Okay number 2 boys at the back what is the answer? Sir 200
Okay Juan answer the number 2
Very good excellent
Sir 50
Okay Ronan answer the number 3
Very good Ronan
Sir my answer is 100
Okay Jeziel answer the number 4
Very good Jeziel
Yes sir the answer is 1000
Okay Who wants to answer the last girl at the side Sweatly
Very good Sweatly

ANALYSIS
Estimate and find the quotient
1.98.00÷48=_____0.04
2.41872÷19=_____0.12
3.17399÷34=_____0.1067
4.19457÷23=_____0.21
5.69673÷68=_____0.0814

 FIXING SKILLS
Estimate the following using the rounding method.
1.573÷6=95.5
2.8501÷9=944.5
3.2926÷26=112.53
I will give you 2 minutes to answer this 3 items.

 ABSTRACTION
How do you estimate quotients?
What are the steps in estimating the quotient?

 APPLICATION
Estimate the answer to following:

1.How many 23s are there in 4323?

2. How many 52s are there in 1322?
3. How many dozens are there in 105 pieces of apples ?
4. How many minutes are there in 3578 seconds?
5. 58389÷26=?

IV. EVALUATION
Round off the dividend and divisor to the highest place value, then estimate the quotient.
