Section 1.5 Compatibility
1.5 Compatibility
AMPL PC and DB Element Libraries 3.2/1 include the libraries valid for Function Chart
Builder 6.2/1 and also AMPL PC and DB Element Libraries valid for Function Chart Builder
6.2/0. AMPL PC and DB Libraries 3.2/1 can also be installed for revisions of Function Chart
Builder 6.2/1. The included AMPL PC and DB Libraries for Function Chart Builder 6.2/0 can
be installed for all revisions of Function Chart Builder 6.1.
See also Control Builder A Release Notes.
1.6 Restrictions
AMPL PC and DB Element Libraries do not contain any Library for Function Chart Builder <=
6.0.

Chapter 2 Functionality
NOTE
The previous version of Function Chart Builder 6.1 can also be updated. This has to be selected
during setup.
If FCB 6.2/0 is already installed on the PC, during “Typical” installation of AMPL Libraries the
following question appears:
3BDS013819D101 2-1
AMPL PC and DB Element Libraries Release Notes
Section 2.1.2 Change the Number of EVS to 128; only for the AC160 2.2 with PM665
Figure 2-1.
2.1.2 Change the Number of EVS to 128; only for the AC160 2.2 with PM665
Expand number of EVS DB Element from 32 to 128 for together for EVS(S) and EVS(T). This
number of EVS should be possible for node type "AC 160 with PM66x 2.2".
For node type "AC 160 with PM64x 2.2" and other node types including EVS the maximal
number 32 remain.
This is included in FCB 6.2/1 with Libraries with AMPL Libraries 3.2/1

Section 2.2 Discontinued and Replaced Functions and Units
3BDS013819D101 2-3
AMPL PC and DB Element Libraries Release Notes
Section 2.4 Known Problems and Work Arounds
The problem occurs in case CI626 or CI627 and DSPs are used in application program only for
the following targets types:
AC160 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 2.0,2.1,2.2
AC 110 2.2, 2.3
AC 166 1.0
AC 80 2.0
This has been corrected for Libraries of FCB 6.2/1. The libraries of FCB 6.2/0 can be updated
during installation of libraries.
Workaround:
• Change system variable AEP_BUILDERS to the drive of server installation or
• Unselect library options one library option after the other
2.5 Recommendations
There are no special recommendations concerning usage of AMPL PC and DB Element
Libraries.

Section 3.1.1 Installation Procedure
NOTES
The version number 3.2/1 is the version identification of the AMPL library, not
the version of a target type. Each AMPL library includes support for all available
versions released for a target type.
If Control Builder A Select Product is used, the library options AC 410, AC 450,
and MP200/1 are not available.

5. The installation program opens the Choose Default Setup Type dialog.
If you wish to install all library options with the same setup type (Typical, Compact, or
Custom), you can make this selection here. Otherwise leave the No default setting and
you will be asked to choose a setup type for each library option selected in Step 3 above.

6. In case of “Typical” or “Compact” library installation, the installation program shows the
Start Copying Files Dialog. It summarizes the current settings
NOTE
The Manuals Folder can only be changed in Custom Setup see Chapter 3.1.2,
Custom Installation.
Now the individual setup of each library option that has been selected is started automatically
without further questions. Go on with Step 9.

Section 3.1.1 Installation Procedure
NOTE
The previous version of Function Chart Builder 6.1 can also be updated. This has
to be selected during setup.
If FCB 6.2/0 is already installed on the PC see Figure 3-7 , during “Typical”
installation of AMPL Libraries the following question appears:
If you select the Yes Button the libraries for FCB 6.2/0 are overwritten. The result
is that the FCB detects differences in DB and PC elements during next startup.
Existing nodes using this libraries need to be updated by initialize node and
backtranslate. This update may cause problems especially with number EVS DB
elements.
NOTE
The Manuals Folder can only be changed in Custom Setup see Chapter 3.1.2,
Custom Installation. The default manuals folder is ’MAN\12r0’. The version of
the manuals folder don’t change for different AMPL Library versions. Already
existing manuals on this location are updated by the installation.
9. This step is the start of the installation sequence repeated for each selected library option.
The installation of the first—or next—selected library option starts. If the library option is
already installed on your system, the following warning messages are displayed:

AMPL PC and DB Element Libraries Release Notes
Section 3.1.1 Installation Procedure
It is strongly recommended that you first uninstall the old library option.
After copying library and manual files, the following message box appears to indicate that the
library files are being updated for a specific Function Chart Builder version. This may take a
while depending on the amount and size of files:
If there are more library options to be installed, the installation program goes back to
• Step 9 in case of “Typical”, “Compact”, or “Custom” installation.
• Step 7 in case of “No Default” installation.

program is related to. For Libraries Version 3.2/1 this is Function Chart Builder
6.2/1.
• If you uncheck Libraries for Function Chart Builder 6.2 and check them again,
all installed versions of Function Chart Builder 6.2 are selected.
• If you check Libraries for Function Chart Builder 6.1, all installed versions of
Function Chart Builder 6.1 are selected.
