I am Teacher Steph, your ICT-CSS Teacher who will help you to gain more knowledge and skills in
computer.
This is the Part 2 episodes of Installing and Configuring the Computer System
Now that you have knowledge and skills in disassembling a personal computer, I believe that you are
now ready to take another step which is assembling the computer system unit.
Before you assemble the system unit, take note of the following precautions given by the OHS
standards.
The process by which all of the internal components of a computer system are fitted together in order to
make the computer functional.
Assembling of the Computer System Unit is the process through which all the internal
components are put together.
Why we assembled?
Components of the computer system are assembled in order for the computer to function
well and runs smoothly. It is the process of cleaning and checking the components
problems.
Are you ready to learn the Steps in Assembling Computer System Unit.
Step 1
Before you start, take an inventory of your parts. Do not begin assembling your computer if you
don't have everything you need. Begin the step-by-step process once you are ready with everything
you need.
Step 2
Great care should be taken when installing the motherboard. Before you secure the motherboard onto
the PC case/chassis, inspect it carefully for any visible defects.
Step 3
Check the right alignment of CPU to processor socket because it has a notch in the edge. Use the
unlocking mechanism to open the CPU socket which is usually a lever.
Step 4
Follow the manufacturer's directions to install the heat sink and the fan that will cool the processor. We
put a thermal paste because it fills the microscopic imperfections of trap air particles between the CPU
and the heatsink, preventing the CPU from proper cooling.
Step 5
To install the memory modules, put them into the right socket and push down firmly but evenly until
the clips on both sides of the socket pop into place.
Step 6
Place the motherboard in the case. Don’t forge the back plate to cover the rear connector of the
motherboard.
Step 7
Placing back the power supply depend on the structure of your computer.
Step 8
Install the graphics board in that slot, and then secure the card with a screw
Step 9
Install the following internal drives if its present in your system unit. Solid State Drive, Hard
Disk Drive, Optical Disk Drive or Floppy Disk Drive. After installing the internal drives. You
may attach the different power supply connectors, cable wires and other internal wirings.
Step 10
In this video, the only add in or expansion card is the Wi-Fi Card but there is a lot of
expansion card slot that can be used ot enhance the quality and experience you want in
your computer.
Example: Sound Card, USB Card, Storage Card, Modem Card Etc.
There is a specific procedure for the attachment and installation of every components. Materials, tools
and other components are essential in building and maintaining of computer system. In assembling
system unit, Last Out First In (LOFI) Technique can be applied.
It is one of the basic skills that you must acquire in computer system servicing is to independently
assemble and disassemble a personal computer or simply setting up a computer.
DIRECTION:
Students have to decide which way to go based on the right order of assembling a unit. The
right answer will take them to the next slide, but the wrong answer could send them to a
dead end or back to a previous junction, just like in a real maze game.
Congratulation class for our two episodes in “Installing and Configuring Computer System” With the
topic “Disassembling and Assembling the computer.
Again, I am Teacher Steph, your ICT-CSS Teacher who will help you to gain more knowledge and skills
