DISTANCE LEARNING

Distance Learning-any form of education or learning that happens without the student
being physically present in the lesson.

Students that participate in this learning receive instruction via online courses, video
recording, videoconferencing, or any other audio-visual technology medium.

A method of study where teachers and students do not meet in a classroom but use the
Internet, email, mail, etc to have classes.

It makes it possible for individuals to obtain education without needing to be present in a

physical classroom.

Different Platforms of the Learning Management System?

 Schoology - provides assistance to school systems, with a concentration on K–12
institutions and advice for both parents and teachers. Similar to Facebook, the
Schoology environment offers more educational features like online class tests, tests,
quizzes, and homework.
 Edmodo - is possible to design courses with a strong emphasis on equipping
students with excellent communication capabilities so they can participate. In
addition, parents have access to evaluations, and their opinions are highly valued.
 WizIQ - can design attractively themed courses that draw students in with
multimedia lessons. Numerous assessment styles can assist teachers in determining
how well their students are assimilating the material. It's a system that benefits both
businesses wishing to train their personnel and educators who are also entrepreneurs.
 Sakai - enables the creation of courses using modules where text, tests, videos, and
other resources can be stored. Additionally, it emphasizes encouraging dialogue and
teamwork between instructors and students. Additionally, grading and assessments
are considered, and Sakai enables teachers to provide detailed comments on
assignments.
 Kadenze - is a tier-shaped membership model, however, may have an impact on
how students receive comments on their work. Even more intriguing is the fact that
some Kadenze college-level courses will actually grant students college credit. Their
affiliated colleges that offer these courses may attest to it.
Asynchronous - allows you to learn on your own schedule, within a specific timeframe.
Watching pre-recorded lecture videos or lessons

Synchronous - happening, existing, or arising at precisely the same time.

educational video conferences, interactive webinars, chat-based online
discussions, and lectures that are broadcast at the same time they delivered

Blended learning - an approach to education that combines online educational materials

and opportunities for interaction online with traditional place-based classroom methods.
Blended learning is a process where more traditional methods for training (in-class,
instructor-led) are combined with e-learning content to create a more flexible user
experience.
someone could take an online course to learn the basics of a topic but then attend
an in-person seminar to directly engage with experts and up their skills.

Computer literacy
This means as someone’s knowledge and ability to use a computer and other information
and communication technology (ICT) effectively. It covers everything from using a
computer’s hardware & software to perform basic task to more advanced computer
programming.

Computer literarcy also includes knowing the meaning of key computing terms.

It deals with being able to use computer applications rather than writing software. A

training people in how to operate heavy equipment (e.g., cranes) and

vehicles (e.g., aircraft) or how to work safely in hazardous environments (e.g.,
oil rigs)

Information Literacy - is the ability to find, evaluate, organize, use, and communicate
information in all its various formats, most notably in situations requiring decision-
making, problem-solving, or the acquisition of knowledge.
