Course objectives:
1. To analyze concepts of Analog Modulation schemes viz; AM, FM., Low pass sampling and
Quantization as a random process.
2. To Explain the concepts of digitization of signals viz; sampling, quantizing and encoding.
3. To describe the digital modulation techniques.
4. To study the principles behind information theory and coding
5. To study the various Wireless communication techniques

OUTCOMES:
After successful completion of this course, the students should be able to
CO1: Interpret various modulation techniques to model a communication system.
CO2: Interpret the performance of digital modulation schemes such as BPSK, BFSK, QPSK, DPSK &
QAM.
CO3: Illustrate and compare the Encoding schemes such as PCM, DPCM, DM & ADM and different waveform
coding schemes.
CO4: Infer the channel coding theorem and error control coding and decoding schemes like block codes,
hamming codes, cyclic codes, convolutional codes and Viterbi decoder.
CO5: Analyze the different multiple access Techniques, cellular concept and free reuse for wireless
communication.
