HEALTH PROBLEMS

PART 1:
1. How is your health? Have you ever been in poor or ill health?
- I think my health is quite good. I rarely get sick and I have a lot of energy. I have never been in
poor or ill health, except for some minor colds or flu.

2. Do you do anything to stay healthy? In what ways do you try to stay healthy?
- Yes, I do a lot of things to stay healthy. I exercise regularly, eat a balanced diet, drink plenty of
water, and get enough sleep. I also avoid smoking, drinking, and junk food.

3. Do you worry about the health of those around you?

- Yes, I do worry about the health of those around me, especially my family and friends. I care
about them and I want them to be healthy and happy. I always remind them to take care of
themselves and I help them when they are sick or injured.

4. Do you ever worry about your own mental health/ youngsters’mental health in general?
- Yes, I do worry about my own mental health sometimes. I think mental health is very important
and it affects our physical health, mood, and performance. I try to manage my stress, emotions,
and thoughts in a positive way. I also seek professional help when I need it.

5. Do you have any unhealthy habits? Have you ever had any habits which you consider to be
unhealthy?
- Yes, I have some unhealthy habits. For example, I sometimes snack on chips or chocolate when
I'm bored or stressed. I also tend to stay up late and watch TV or play games. I know these habits
are bad for my health, but I find them hard to quit.

6. What are the health risks associated with your lifestyle and environment?
- Some of the health risks associated with my lifestyle and environment are obesity, diabetes,
heart disease, and cancer. These are caused by factors such as lack of exercise, poor diet,
pollution, and stress. I try to reduce these risks by making some changes in my lifestyle and
environment.

7. What health problems do you worry about most?

- The health problems that I worry about most are chronic diseases, such as diabetes,
hypertension, and arthritis. These are common among older people and they can affect the
quality of life and longevity. I hope to prevent or delay these diseases by taking good care of my
health.
8. What can you do to improve your health?
- One thing that I can do to improve my health is to drink more water. Water is essential for our
body and it can help flush out toxins, improve digestion, hydrate the skin, and prevent
headaches. I can also try to drink less soda, coffee, and tea, which can dehydrate me and affect
my sleep quality.

9. Is it easy to keep fit where you live?

- No, it is not easy to keep fit where I live, because there are not many facilities or opportunities
for exercise. The traffic is very bad and the air is very polluted, so I don't feel like going outside.
The nearest gym is too far and too expensive, so I can't afford to go there. The only thing that I
can do is to walk up and down the stairs in my apartment, or do some simple exercises at home.

10. What do you think is more important, eating healthily or doing exercise?
- I think both eating healthily and doing exercise are important for our health, and we should not
neglect either of them. Eating healthily can provide us with the nutrients that we need, prevent
diseases, and boost our immune system. Doing exercise can strengthen our muscles, bones, and
organs, improve our blood circulation, and release our stress. Therefore, I think we should
balance both aspects of our health and not focus on one over the other.

11. What are the health benefits of playing a sport?

- There are many health benefits of playing a sport, such as improving our physical fitness,
mental health, and social skills. Playing a sport can help us lose weight, build muscle, increase
stamina, and prevent injuries. It can also help us reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, and
improve our mood, self-esteem, and confidence. Playing a sport can also help us make friends,
cooperate with others, and learn from our mistakes.

12. Do you have a lot of stress? What are some things that cause stress? What are some ways to
deal with stress?
- Yes, I have a lot of stress in my life. Some of the things that cause stress are work pressure,
deadlines, exams, family problems, and financial issues. These things can make me feel
overwhelmed, frustrated, and anxious. Some of the ways that I deal with stress are listening to
music, reading a book, watching a movie, or talking to a friend. These things can help me relax,
distract, and vent my emotions.

13. How many hours of sleep do you get a night? Do you usually get enough sleep?
- I usually get about seven hours of sleep a night, which I think is enough for me. I try to go to
bed and wake up at the same time every day, and I avoid caffeine, alcohol, and screens before
bedtime. I also make sure that my bedroom is dark, quiet, and comfortable. I think getting
enough sleep is important for my health, because it can help me rest, recover, and recharge.

14. Do you watch your weight? What foods do you think are healthy?
- Yes, I do watch my weight, because I want to maintain a healthy body mass index (BMI) and
prevent obesity and related diseases. I weigh myself once a week and I keep track of my calories
and nutrients. I think foods that are healthy are those that are natural, fresh, and low in fat, sugar,
and salt. I eat a lot of fruits, vegetables, grains, and lean protein, and I avoid processed, fried,
and fast foods.

15. How often do you eat junk food? What kinds of junk food do you eat? How does it affect your
health?
- I rarely eat junk food, maybe once or twice a month, as a treat or a reward. I don't like junk
food, because it is unhealthy, expensive, and addictive. The kinds of junk food that I eat are
chips, cookies, ice cream, and pizza. I know that junk food can affect my health negatively,
because it can cause weight gain, tooth decay, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol.

PART 2:
Describe something you do to keep healthy. You should say:
• what this activity is
• when you do it
• and how often you do it
• and explain why you think it’s a good way to look after your health.

One thing that I do to keep healthy is jogging. Jogging is a form of aerobic exercise that involves
running at a moderate pace for a certain distance or time. I usually jog in the morning, before I go
to work or school. I try to jog at least three times a week, for about 30 minutes each time. I think
jogging is a good way to look after my health because it has many benefits for my body and
mind. For example, jogging can help me burn calories, strengthen my muscles, improve my
cardiovascular system, and lower my blood pressure and cholesterol. Jogging can also help me
reduce stress, improve my mood, and enhance my creativity and concentration. Therefore, I think
jogging is a simple but effective activity that I do to keep healthy.
