Introducing SAP extension for

Customer 360
An extension is a ready-to-use package that extends the capability of Customer 360. The package can
include business entities, reference data, relationships, custom pages, jobs, source systems, and Data
Integration assets to support the jobs. You can use an extension as a template to get started with Customer
360.

Use the SAP extension to integrate SAP and Customer 360 and process the SAP records in Customer 360.

You can use the SAP extension to import data from SAP ERP Central Component (SAP ECC) and SAP S/
4HANA to Customer 360 in batches and master the records in Customer 360.

The SAP extension uses the Organization business entity to store the SAP Organization business partner
customer records and the Person business entity to store the SAP Person business partner customer
records.

You can configure SAP to synchronize records with Customer 360 in batches.

Guidelines to use the extension

Consider the following rules and guidelines when you use the extension:

• Use the extension as a template and customize it for your requirements.

• After you deploy the extension, you can't upgrade to a newer version of the extension.
• Import the extension assets before you customize the Customer 360 data model because the import
process overwrites the existing Customer 360 assets and customizations.
• You can deploy only one extension. If you deploy another extension, the process of importing the
extension assets overwrites the assets of the existing extension.
• If you want to use multiple extensions in the same Org, you must consolidate the data models manually.

Integrating Customer 360 with

SAP
Use the SAP extension to integrate SAP and Customer 360 and process the SAP records in Customer 360.

Processing data in batches

You can process SAP records with Customer 360 SaaS in batches.

Run the batch job to ingress the SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA records to Customer 360. The job uses a
taskflow to run mapping tasks. Each mapping task includes a mapping that maps the SAP fields with the
Customer 360 business entity fields.

Ingress and egress initial data

When you ingress initial SAP business partner records to Customer 360 from SAP ECC or SAP S/4HANA, the
ingress job creates master records for all the SAP records in Customer 360. The ingress job assigns a
Customer360 ID to each master record in Customer 360.

After you ingress records from SAP ECC, you can export the processed records to SAP ECC and SAP S/
4HANA in batches. When you ingress records from SAP S/4HANA, you can export the processed the records
to SAP S/4HANA in batches.

Ingress and egress incremental data

After the first run, you can incrementally ingress the records that are added or updated in SAP ECC and SAP
S/4HANA. When you ingress incremental records, the ingress job uses the Customer360 Id to determine
whether to update or insert a record to Customer 360.

When the Customer360 Id is present in SAP ECC or SAP S/4HANA for a record, it indicates that the record
exists in Customer 360 and the job updates the record in Customer 360. When the Customer360 Id is not
present in SAP ECC or SAP S/4HANA, it indicates that the record is new, and the job inserts the record to
Customer 360.

After you onboard the incremental records from SAP ECC or SAP S/4HANA, you can process the records and
export the incremental data to SAP S/4HANA. The values of each duplicate record in SAP ECC and SAP S/
4HANA are updated with the master record values. Use Cloud Data Integration assets and Business 360
connector to export the incremental Customer 360 records.

 The Customer360 Id and Customer360 Sync Date fields for the master records are updated accordingly in
SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA.

Running the jobs

After integrating SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA with Customer 360, you can run the ingress job.

Note: When you configure an SAP Table Reader mapping to read data from an SAP table source object, the
mapping might fail with the following error:

If the SAP Table Reader mapping fails, configure the SapStrictSql custom property and set the value based
on the SAP system language.

To configure the SapStrictSql custom property, perform the following tasks :

1. In Administrator, click Runtime Environments.

The Runtime Environments page appears.
2. Select the Secure Agent that runs the mapping.
3. Click Edit.
4. In the Custom Configuration Details section, select Data Integration Server as the Service and Tomcat
as the Type.
5. In the Name field, enter SapStrictSql and set the value based on the SAP system language.
For example, set the value as E for English language.

Note: Importing the SAP extension assets overwrites the existing Customer 360 assets and your
customization. Ensure to import the extension assets before you customize the Customer 360 data model.

entities.

The Alternate Names field group stores the details of alternate name of an organization.

Installation process flow to

deploy SAP extension
To deploy SAP extension on Customer 360, you must configure SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA, download the
extension package, import assets into Customer 360, and update the predefined connections.

The following image shows the process flow to integrate SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA with Customer 360:

Downloading and extracting the SAP extension

package
To get the link to download the SAP extension package, contact Informatica Global Customer Support.

 After you download the SAP extension package, extract the package on your machine. The package contains
the additional data model attributes, relationships, and predefined custom pages for Customer 360.

The extracted package contains the following files and folders:

- Additional data model attributes to store SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA records.
- Source system for SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA.
- Predefined custom pages.

3_MDM_Job_Assets.zip Contains the job assets to synchronize SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA records with

Importing the SAP extension assets

After you extract the extension package, import the SAP extension assets to Customer 360. Importing the
SAP extension assets overwrites the existing Customer 360 assets and your customization.

Note: Before you customize the Customer 360 data model, ensure that you import the extension assets.

1. In Business 360 Console, click Explore > Import.

The Import Assets page appears.
2. Import the data model attributes, reference data assets, source system, and predefined custom pages.
a. Navigate to the following file:
<Extracted extension package>/1_MDM_Assets.zip
b. Click Open.
The Import Assets page lists the assets in the file.
c. Ensure that all the assets are selected, and click Import.
d. On the My Import/Export Logs page, verify that the import job is successful.
3. Import the Cloud Data Integration assets and the connections.
a. In Data Integration, click Explore > Import.
The Import Assets page appears.
b. Navigate to the following file:
<Extracted extension package>/2_DI_Assets.zip
c. Click Open.
The Import Assets page lists the assets in the file.
d. Ensure that all the assets are selected, and then select Publish Taskflow(s) after import.

4. Import the job assets.
a. Navigate to the following file:

c. Ensure that all the assets are selected, and click Import.
d. On the My Import/Export Logs page, verify that the import job is successful.
5. Add a Secure Agent to the predefined Secure Agent group.
a. In Administrator, click Runtime Environments.
b. Expand the Actions menu for the infa_extension_runtime Secure Agent group, and select Add or
Remove Secure Agents.
c. In the Available Agents list, select the Secure Agent that you want to add to the group, and click
Select.
d. Expand the Actions menu for the infa_extension_runtime Secure Agent group, and select Enable
or Disable Services, Connectors.
e. From the Services tab, select the services to enable for the Secure Agent group.
f. From the Connectors tab, select the connectors to enable for the Secure Agent group.
g. Click Save.
6. Save the parameter files in the Secure Agent Installation directory.
a. Copy all the parameter files from the following directory:

b. Paste the copied files into the following directory:

Configuring Business 360 FEP connector

You can use the Business 360 FEP connector to write SAP data into Business 360. If the input values for SAP
ECC and SAP S/4HANA integer fields are null, the Business 360 FEP connector converts the null values to 0
in Business 360.

1. In Administrator, click Connections.

2. Click infac360sap_conn_business360_fep.
3. Test the connection, and ensure that the connection is successful.
The connection might fail with the following error:
The test connection for infac360sap_fep_business360 failed. Unable to fetch connector
attributes, Ensure adapter ID is valid[com.infa.adapter.mdmflat].
4. If the connection fails, perform the following steps:
a. Verify the license used.

 b. Verify that the connector is enabled for the Secure Agent group.
c. Restart the Secure Agent.

Configuring SAP connection

You can use SAP Table connection to integrate SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA with Customer 360 in batches.

1. To configure a SAP Table connection, perform the following steps:

a. Verify if the required licences are available for SAP Table Connector to create an SAP table
connection and process SAP table data.
b. Download and install the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable package on the Windows machine
that hosts the Secure Agent.
c. Download and configure the SAP libraries on the Secure Agent machine to read from and write to
SAP tables.
d. To enable the Secure Agent to connect to the SAP system as a Remote Function Call (RFC) client,
create and configure the sapnwrfc.ini file on the machines that host the Secure Agent.
e. Configure the SAP user account to process SAP table data.
f. Install the SAP Table connection transport files on the SAP machines that you want to access.
g. To connect to SAP through HTTPS and read SAP table sources, configure the machine that hosts
the Secure Agent and the machine that hosts the SAP system.

The following table describes the SAP Table connection properties:

To write to SAP tables, use the following directory:
<Informatica Secure Agent installation directory>/main/bin/rdtm

Destination Required. DEST entry that you specified in the sapnwrfc.ini file for the SAP application
server.
Destination is case sensitive.
Note: Use all uppercase letters for the destination.

Port Range HTTP port range. The SAP Table connection uses the specified port numbers to connect
to SAP tables using the HTTP protocol. Ensure that you specify valid numbers to prevent
connection errors. Default: 10000-65535.
Enter a range in the default range, for example, 10000-20000. When a range is outside the
default range, the connection uses the default range.

Test Streaming Tests the connection. When selected, tests the connection using both RFC and HTTP
protocol. When not selected, tests connection using HTTP protocol.

Https Connection When selected, connects to SAP through HTTPS protocol. To successfully connect to SAP
through HTTPS, verify that an administrator has configured the machines that host the
Secure Agent and the SAP system.

Keystore Location The absolute path to the JKS keystore file.

Keystore Password The destination password specified for the .JKS file.

Private Key The export password specified for the .P12 file.

3. Test the connections, and ensure that the connections are successful.

4. If the SAP instance and the Secure Agent are installed in the same Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) network,
perform the following steps:
a. Configure the Secure Agent host to use the private IP address to access the SAP instance.
1. Open the following file on the Secure Agent:
• On Windows. \Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts
• On Linux. /etc/hosts
2. Add an entry for the SAP instance in the following format:
<SAP Hostname> <Private IP address of SAP Host>
3. Repeat steps 1 through 2 for all the SAP instances available in VPC as Secure Agent host.

 b. For communication between SAP instance and Secure Agent, add a custom DTM configuration
property to use the private IP address of the Secure Agent host.
1. In Administrator, click Runtime Environments.
2. Expand the Actions menu for the Secure Agent, and select Edit Secure Agent.
3. In the Custom Configuration Details section, enter the following details:

4. Click Save.
The Secure Agent restarts automatically within 10 minutes. To apply the properties
immediately, you can restart manually. Ensure that no tasks run to avoid failure of any running
task.

c. Test the connection to verify the connectivity between SAP and the Secure Agent host.
If the connection test is unsuccessful, disable the firewall to resolve the issue.

Adding code values to the reference data assets

You can import the code values to the reference data assets using Reference 360. Add the reference data
values to the reference data assets.

1. To import data into Reference 360, upload the CSV file with code values.

a. In Reference 360, from the Explore page, select the reference data to which you want to add the
code values.
b. Click the Import Values icon.
The Upload File page of the Import Values wizard appears.
c. To select a file to upload, drag a CSV source file, or click Browse and select the source file.
The first 10 rows of records appear in the preview section.

2. After you select the file to import, the import process automatically maps the possible columns to the
suitable target fields. You can either use the system suggested mapping or modify the mapping as
required.
a. On the Map Fields page of the Import Values wizard, verify the system suggested mapping of fields.
b. To manually map any field, perform one of the following tasks:
• Drag a source column to a target field.

data.
a. On the Preview and Import File page of the Import Values wizard, verify the mapping.
If the preview does not return desired results, you can go back to the Map Fields page to map the
fields again.
b. To import the file, click Import.
The import process starts. You get a notification after the import process is complete.
