Style
1- The style in writing can be defined as the way a writer writes. It is the technique that an
individual author uses in his writing. It varies from author to author, and depends upon one’s
syntax, word choice, and tone.
2- Literary style is a unique way of presenting a piece of writing. The combination of word
choice, figurative language, sentence formation, and formality work together to create a 'voice'
through which a story is told. Through literary style, an author can create a mood for the story as
well as a manner for describing the characters, plot, and meaning of a story.
3- The author’s style has to do with the author’s vocabulary, use of imagery, tone or feeling
of the story. It has to do with his attitude towards the subject. In some novels the tone can be
ironic, humorous, cold or dramatic.
