DVI Technology

--------------
--> Symmetric Approach
--> A-Symmetric Approach (PLV)

Dvi technology can do both symmetric and a-symmetric approach for motion video
compression and decompression.
A-symmetric approach is called Production Level Video (PLV). PLV used for large
computer and special interface computer equipment.
But DVI system is used for playing and compressed video.

The picture quality of PLV is the highest that can currently be achieved.
The other DVI technology compression approach is called Real Time Video (RTV).
The RTV is a Symmetric approach, is done on DVI system.

Note: The RTV picture quality is not good than that of PLV.

Models of Time
------------------

The time dependent data in a multimedia system is the identification and

specification relations between the multimedia data objects.
Time dependant data are unique in the both values and times of delivery. The time
dependant of multimedia data is difficult to characterize for
both static and time dependant of the application.

--> Time Dependecies

----------------

Static ---------> No Time Dependency.

Discrete ---------> Single Element.
Natural ---------> Real World Time Dependency.
Continuous ---------> Playout is continuous in time.
Live ---------> Data originate in real time.
Stored Data ---------> Data originate from pre-recoreded storage.

---> Conceptual Models of time

-------------------------

8:00am 4:00 PM 12:00 am

8:00 am
|--------------------------------------!------------------------------------------!
--------------------------------|

The conceptual models of time is developed for these applications, which apply to
the multimedia synchronization problem.
Two Representation are indicated like instance and intervals.
---> Time and Multimedia Requirements
--------------------------------

The goal of signification to provide a relationship between data objects as well as

synchronization and orchestration process will be occured.
The timing in computer system is conventionally sequential.
Concurency provides simultaneously event execution.

---> Temporal Access Control (TAC)

-----------------------------

Media representation in the form of TAC operations.

These operations provides the functionality for the time based multimedia
application.
The TAC operations are given below:
1: Reverse
2: Forward
3: Backward
4: Midpoint suspension
5: Midpoint Resemption.
6: Random Access
7: Looping
8: Browsing / Sequential Access.

--> Temporal Transformation

-----------------------

Temporal Transformation changes one frame of time to another frame of time.

Temporal transformation consist as:
1: Scaling
2: Queuing
3: Inverting
4: Translation -- To move or to shift
