adverbs in the sentences.

Now, what did you observe from your previous (A student volunteers and answers.)
activity? They are all adverbs, Sir.
Yes, obviously they are all adverbs.
Aside from that, what else? Most of them end with -ly, Sir.
Very good!
C. Analysis

You learned that nouns are words used for people, (The students answer.)
places, and things, right? Yes, Sir!
Now, give me three examples of nouns from people, Children, park, fried chicken

Adjectives modify nouns by describing them

Excellent!

This relationship between nouns and adjectives is

very similar to the relationship between verbs and
adverbs.

Now, who can define adverbs based on your Adverbs are words that can modify or describe a
activity? verb, adjective, another adverb, or entire sentence.
Adverbs provide context in a sentence by
describing how, when, where, and to what extent
something occurs.
You are right!

When first learning about adverbs, we tend to focus

on adverbs that modify verbs.

Observe the two examples below.

He walked quickly.
She talks loudly.

What is the adverb in the two sentences? Quickly and loudly, Sir.
What do you notice about these words? They both end with -ly, Sir.
That is correct. In these two examples, the adverbs
tell us how the verb is performed.

Now, can you explain the relationship between the In the first example, Sir, "walked" is the verb, and
verb and adverb in the first sentence? the adverb "quickly" describes how the verb was
done.

How about the second sentence? "Talks" is the verb, and the adverb "loudly"
describes how the verb is done, Sir.
You are right!

Not all adverbs tell us how a verb is done. Adverbs

can also tell us when, where, how often, and how
much a verb is done.

Observe the examples of adverbs modifying verbs

below. Identify whether the sentence tells how,
when, where, how often, and how much a verb is
done.
He ran quickly. How
He ran yesterday. When
He ran here. Where
He ran daily. How often
He ran fastest. How much

Good job, class!

Here is a concrete detail of adverbs. Everybody
read.

Now, can you give me another examples of adverbs How: They left peacefully.

much a verb is done? When: They will see each other later.
How much: She completely forgot about the
meeting.
How often: He always eats breakfast.
Excellent, class!
