Zebra MC9300 User Guide

The Zebra MC9300 scanner runs on the Android OS. This guide will highlight the
applications you will be using and some hardware functions.

Scan capture button and trigger

Power On

Hold the power button down for a few


seconds until you see the Zebra logo and
then let go. It will take a couple minutes to
power up.

After the device boots up you will see the startup screen.
Swipe up on the screen to show the home screen.

Home Screen Layout

The banner at the top displays the serial


number of the device. You will need to give
this to IT support when asked and/or to
report an issue.

Zebra Remote Desktop


This is the application you will use to
remote into the WMS server and sign on.

Settings Folder
This folder contains additional applications
that will be covered later in this document.

Navigation Icons
The navigation icons work the same as most
systems running the Android OS.

Home: Closes the current screen and


displays to the home screen.

Back: closes the current screen and goes


back to the previous screen.

Recent: This function is disabled.

Zebra Remote Desktop
Press the Zebra Remote Desktop icon once to launch the application.
The application will open and display a list of Sessions, which will includes “S24WMS”.

Select “S24WMS” to connect to the WMS server and sign on.

Enter your user name: corp\qxxxxx
The “\” symbol can be found on the
Diamond Key grid.
Launch the Diamond Key grid by pressing
the diamond key on the physical keyboard,
just below the F1 key, and selecting the \
symbol.

Enter your password and press the enter


key on the keyboard.

It will connect to the WMS server and after a couple of minute’s display the Tecsys ‐ WMS
application sign on screen.

Enter your User Name (without the corp\) and password again.
Select Login or press Enter on the keyboard.
The WMS Home screen will display and you can use the application as usual per your job
requirements.

Logoff when you go to lunch or will not be using it for an extended period of time.
Within the Tecsys WMS system hold down the CTRL button and press x, one or more times,
until it logs out and you are back to the sign on screen.

CTRL+X one or more times until you are back to the TECSYS WMS sign on screen.

Next hold down the CTRL button again and press ESC to bring up the Windows Start menu.

CTRL+ESC

Select the User icon and a menu will


appear.
Select “Sign out” and “OK” to log off the
Zebra Remote Desktop session.

Keyboard
There are some differences with the keyboard on the MC9300 compared to the previous RF
models.
There is no “symbol” button. You can access
several symbols by pressing the Diamond
Key.

The “ALT” key has been replaced with the


“CTRL” key. Example: If you previously used
the ALT key, such as ALT+L, you should now
use CTRL+L.

Power Button
When the devices is powered up the power button has multiple functions.
Pressing and releasing the power button will either shut off the display or turn it back on.
Pressing and holding the power button for a few seconds will bring up a menu with three
options. Use the touchscreen to choose the option.

Power off – powers off the device.
Always power off the device at the end of
the day unless instructed otherwise.

Restart – restarts the device.

Screenshot – takes an image of the current


screen on the device. The captured images
can only be accessed by IT support. It would
be helpful to take a screenshot of any error
messages.

Volume Settings
You can adjust the volume settings by pressing the blue key once and then the Q key.

Press Blue key once, then Q key.


This will display the volume menu for a few seconds.
Press the down arrow to see all the volume setting options and adjust by sliding the level for
each option.

Settings Folder Applications
The Settings folder on the Home screen contains some additional applications.
Select the folder to open it.
Battery Manager – Open this app to display
the battery health and charge level.

Notepad – Open this app to test barcode


scanning if needed.

WifiCenter – This should only be used if


requested by IT support. It is only necessary
if the device has an issue connecting to
WiFi. Never use this app to connect to a
WiFi SSID without being directed by IT
support.
