Associate Professor, Dept. of Microbiology and Cell Biology, IISc
Chief - Cardiovascular and Muscle Research Lab, IISc

Interest: Cardiovascular Biology, Life Sciences, Biotechnology

Previously worked as Postdoctoral Scholar at the University of Chicago,

USA, where he also taught medical students at the university’s Pritzker
School of Medicine.
Professor leads a research lab at IISc that conducts research in Sirtuins,
a family of histone deacetylases. Under his leadership, the lab performs
experiments to disclose new biological functions of Sirtuins that can be
therapeutically targeted for promoting the health span of the heart.
In 2019, he was conferred with the National Bioscience Award for Career
Development 2019 and NASI-Scopus Young Scientist Award 2019 in the
field of Biomedical Research and Healthcare.
