Okay class! How do find the 6.NF
game? Is it hard or easy?
Easy!
That’s great! So those who says Hard!
that its hard, I hope you will
overcome that after I discuss our
topic to you this afternoon. So,
class, looking at the equations
on the board, what did you
observe?
Yes Ian?
No ma’am .
B. Developmental Activities
a. Presentation
Objectives
Quadratic equation is an
equation of degree 2, meaning
that the highest exponent of this
function is 2. The standard form
of a quadratic is y = ax^2 + bx +
c, where a, b, and c are real
numbers and a should not be
equal to zero.
Completing the square is to
create a perfect square trinomial
from a quadratic. A perfect
square trinomial is a trinomial
that will factor into the square of
a binomial. The square of a
binomial is a binomial
multiplied by itself.
“Steps in Completing the square
of quadratic equation”
Step 1: Divide the equation by a.
Step 2: Move the constant term
to the right side of the equation.
Step 3: Take half of the
coefficient for x and square it.
Step 4: Add the square to both
sides of the equation.
Step 5: Factor the perfect square
trinomial and express it as a
square of binomial.
Step 6: Take the square root of
both sides.
c. Discussion
Examples:
1.x²+10x=3
Answer:
1.
x= -5+2√7
x=-5-2√7
2.x²-3x=1
Answer:
x=3+√13/2
x=3-√13/2
Who would like to answer
example number3? Yes Ana?
3.x²+5x=4
None ma’am.
C. Concluding Activities
1. 2a^2 – 4a – 5 =0
Answer:
a= (2+|√ 14 )/2
a=(2-√ 14 )/2
b. Values Integration
So I assume that you fully
understood our topic .
None ma’am.
