Leave Policy V5
Objective: The objective of this policy is to describe the terms and conditions governing the leave entitlement to all
the employees.
Eligible Leave:
EarnedLeave (EL):- All the employees shall be entitled to a Quarterly Leaves of 5.25* days in the applicable
Financial Year. Employees can avail accumulated leaves at a stretch with prior information to Head of the
Department via Qandle.
In case of sickness, leave request beyond two days should be supported by a Doctor’s Certificate. In case of
sickness where leave is required for a longer duration, approval of the department head is a must.
Utilization of leaves beyond the accumulated Earned Leaves in any quarter shall be treated as Leave without pay.
In case such employee resigns the Company before such advance leaves given to him actually accrues to him, his
salary will be deducted to the extent of advance leaves which are not yet accrued at the time of separation.
General Rules:
1) Leave applicable as per Financial Year April to March.
2) Leave shall be taken with prior approval as per the procedures mentioned below
3) Absence from duty without approval would be considered as leave without pay apart from initiation of
appropriate action.
4) Un-availed Leave shall be encashable*at the end of the financial year. Leave encashment will be calculated
on the Leave Salary Component existing in the salary structure. On Separation, in case there are any excess
leaves, the same will be recovered from the gross monthly salary.
*Business Development Dept. – Un-availed leave shall be lapsed at the end of the financial year
5) Leaves at a Stretch: Any leave taken more than 2 days will need 15 days prior approval from HOD in
Qandle.
6) In Probation Period no EL would be granted whereas after the confirmation the leaves accumulated during
the probation period will be allotted on/after the date of confirmation.
Sandwich Leave: Any week off or public holiday falling in between leave without pay leave type, unapproved/
unapplied leaves shall be considered under leave without pay deduction.
For example, if an employee has taken leave on Saturday and Monday and in between there is a weekly off i.e, Sunday,
then this 1 day coming in between Saturday and Monday will also be counted as Leave without pay and total LOP (Loss
of Pay) will be 3.
However, if there is an application for EL on either Saturday or Monday then sandwich leave policy will not apply. For
ease of understanding, the following rules shall apply:
