What is computer and what we use for?

Computer is a machine use for calculation.

Computer is taken from Latin word compute which mean to calculate.

Computer is a machine that accept the input data process that and output the information.

Parts of computer: Computer is generally divided into two main parts.


1- Hardware
2- Software: program

Hardware-> The physically body of computer that we can see and touch them is called hardware.
Parts of Hardware:
a. input device
b. output device

Input device-> by input device we can enter the data into the computer.
Ex: Keyboard, mouse, sensor…

Output device-> by output device we can the input data from computer.
Ex: Printer, Speakers, Screen…

Software-> The entire program of computer that we can see but can’t touch them is called software.
Ex: Windows, word, paint…

Parts of software: Software is generally divided into three parts.


a. System software
b. Application software
c. Language software

What is windows?
Windows is an operating system that operate all hardware system.

Or a windows is the way of communication between user and computer.

1- Start menu -> all programs -> Accessories -> Notepad
2- Start menu -> run -> Notepad
3- Task bar (right click) -> toolbars -> address bar (tick) -> notepad
4- Right click -> new -> text document
5- Start menu -> all programs -> Accessories -> Notepad(right click) -> Properties -> shortcut key
