NOTE
i • To upload settings to the device, the window Settings Editor containing the settings must be active.
If any other window is active, then commands Update Changed Settings and Send All Settings are
disabled.
When uploading settings to the relay, Reydisp Evolution checks whether the settings are compatible with
the designated relay. If the settings are incompatible, then the upload will not happen and the following
conversion process takes place:
• During the conversion process, an additional settings window is opened which contains the original
settings of the destination device with the compatible values copied to it.
• Incompatible settings are highlighted in the attention color (orange color) and you must verify these
settings. If the destination device had fewer settings than the source device, but all its settings were
compatible, then the difference is flagged. However, no settings are highlighted for attention. If the
settings in the new window are correct, then select Send All Settings to begin the upload with the
converted settings.
² Click Update the Setting(s) that are changed since the last upload or download to the original group in
the device.

²
To reset flags, use the command Relay → Control → . Reset the device flag indication LED lights.
The Communications Editor is used to configure the communication protocols such as DNP3,
IEC 60870-5-103, and MODBUS.
The Editor allows configuration files to be retrieved from the relay, edited, and sent back to the relay. The files
can be saved/loaded from the PC or laptop computer to work offline. The protocols are stored in a Reyrolle
Protection Device Communications file (RPDC). For more information on the Communication Editor, refer to
the Communication Editor User Manual..
The Communication Editor tool and its user manual are installed as part of the Reydisp Evolution software
package. You can find the user manual in your PC or laptop computer under Start → Programs → Reydisp
Evolution → Communication Editor.
By default, the 7SR10 Argus relay uses the text descriptions in all menus as they appear in this guide. The
Language File Editor is a tool to configure text on the device fascia. Settings, meters, and miscellaneous
text can be changed using the Language File Editor. For more information on language editor, refer to the
Language File Editor User Manual.
The Reyrolle Language File Editor tool and its user manual are installed as part of the Reydisp Evolution
software package. User manual can be found in your PC or laptop computer under Start ▶ Programs ▶
Reydisp Evolution ▶ Language File Editor.
2.8.1 Procedure
Before using either of these commands, ensure that the settings window is active (topmost). Settings can be
saved in the original settings format (.set) or the new format (.rsf2) which holds more information and is more
secure.
² You can save the settings using File → Save.
- or -
² You can save the file under a new name using File → Save As.
² To save the contents of the tab Notes, use the new format. Settings that are saved in either of these
formats can be reloaded using the File → Open command.
² To export settings in CSV, XML, TXT or RTF formats, use the command File → Save Asand select the type
of file required from the Save File as Type list.
NOTE
i • CSV and TXT files are files that can be opened in another application. For example, CSV in the Excel
spreadsheet or TXT in Notepad.
• The XML files contain a list of the settings and their descriptive information.
• The RTF files are a table of the settings which contains present value, default value and space for a
user value, and can be opened in a suitable word processor.
• Displaying saved fault records and evaluating them with suitable viewing software
Before Reydisp Manager can be used to configure Reyrolle devices, device templates must be installed.
Reydisp Manager must be installed before the templates are installed.
A template is required for each model/software version that is to be used. The templates are available by
contacting the Siemens Customer Service or from the Siemens Internet site.
Reydisp Manager takes a project-based approach to device configuration rather than a stand-alone device
approach. This allows a single project to contain the configuration of multiple devices making the configura-
tion and management of multiple devices far easier than managing each device independently.
NOTE
i The file format of the Reydisp Manager Project (.rpf) file changed in Reydisp Manager 1.30. Projects created
in Reydisp Manager 1.30 and later are not compatible with versions 1.20 and earlier. The projects created
in Reydisp Manager 1.20 and earlier can be converted to the new file format when they are first opened in
Reydisp Manager 1.30 or later. Siemens recommends using Reydisp Manager 1.51 and higher.
For more information on creating projects, refer to Reydisp Manager User Guide.
Compare/Merge Settings downloads the settings from the device and compares them with the settings
in the Reydisp Manager project. Once the settings have been downloaded, the Compare Settings form is
shown.
Reload firmware reloads the firmware that is installed in the relay and reverts to factory default. The logics,
settings, language files, curves, or other changes in the relay are lost during this process. By synchronizing the
device and by loading the firmware, the Reydisp Manager reapplies the logic and settings.
To reload the firmware, the relay must be connected via USB or RS485. The relay selected in the project must
be of the same variant as the physical relay, otherwise loading the firmware is prevented.
Migrate Device is used to change a relay to a different variant while maintaining the same settings, logic, and
other configuration.
Another use of Migrate Device is, when multiple identical relay settings are copied and pasted but one relay
must change into different variant, while maintaining the same settings and logics.
It is easier and quick to adapt an existing relay than to start with a new relay configuration.
The Import Settings feature allows previously configured device settings to be applied to a device inside
Reydisp Manager.
Settings files from Reydisp Evolution 32 are saved with an RSF2 extension. These files contain the settings for
a single settings group. For example, Group 1 or Group 2.
The Settings Editor included with Reydisp Manager supports the newer RSF3 files which contain the settings
for all groups. For example, settings for Group 1, 2, 3, through to Group 8 for devices that provide 8 groups.
Click Import Settings, select an existing settings file to copy the settings from. The settings file can be the
older RSF2 file or the newer RSF3 settings file. An existing file created with Reydisp Evolution can be used, or
an existing setting file created by Reydisp Manager can also be used.
Reylogic Express is a tool to create custom logic diagrams for the relay. Multiple logic diagrams can be
created and text labels can be added to annotate diagrams to effectively organize more complex logic
schemes.
The Communications Editor is used to configure the communication protocols such as DNP3,
IEC 60870-5-103, and MODBUS.
The communication editor is launched by selecting the Communication Protocol Editor from the task
section. If the device variant does not support the communication editor, this option is not visible. Depending
on the device variant, not all protocols are available.
NOTE
i When the Communications Protocol Editor is launched from Reydisp Manager, not all options described
in the Communications Protocol Editor are relevant, such as saving files, sending files, and retrieving files
to and from the device. This is all handled by Reydisp Manager when performing device synchronization.
The language-file changes can be performed offline and then sent to the device onsite. When a language file
is sent to the device, an additional setting Language Setting is created to select the available languages. To
see the Language Setting from the Setting Editor in Reydisp Manager, the language file must be sent to the
device first and then an updated settings will be automatically downloaded into the Reydisp Manager project.
Once done, the language file can be selected from the language setting in the Setting Editor.
Once the updated settings are sent to the device, the device switches into the specified language. The settings
appear on the device in the new language. The settings are also automatically downloaded into the Reydisp
Manager project and then only can be viewed in the specified user language.
Reyrolle Language Editor is launched by selecting the desired relay and clicking Language Editor in the task
section.
