Simple Past Future Tense is a form of verb in English to talk
about the future from the perspective of the past. This tense can
be used to express an event or action that will be carried out
(voluntary or planned), make estimates or predictions, and make
promises in the future while in the past.

In English, Simple Past Future Tense is also used to explain


events that occur or are carried out repeatedly or have become
a habit in the past. The use of the word “would” usually indicates
that the speaker wants something to happen in the future, which
may or may not come true.
Simple past future tense is a tense used to express events that will happen or
be done in the past (past future). So whatever we are going to do or plan at
that time can be expressed with this tense. The same goes for our
circumstances or conditions, such as:

i would come if I knew.


My father had a strong feeling that the weather would be warm yesteday.
I thought she would go along with you.
simple past future tense has two formulas. The first is called verbal and is used when
there is a verb, while the second is called nominal and is used when there is no verb.
Instead, be needs to be added to this second formula.

With Verb (used when there is a verb (verb)

The way to find out what tense the sentence being discussed uses can be
identified by looking at the context and the time information used. Usually
the past future tense uses time information as follows:

Yesterday The next day


Last week The day before
Last month The week before
Last year The month before
1. To express an action that would have been carried out voluntarily in the past
Example : i would submit the task yesterday.

2.To express actions that will be carried out in a planned manner in the past
(be going to)
Example : They said they were going to meet Mr Charlie.

3.To express predictions in the past


Example : I thought Justin Bieber would release the new album last month.

4.to show promise in the past


Example : A friend of mine promised that he would pick me up at five.

5.To express hope in the past


Example : Many working-class people hoped the government would cut land tax
for them.
