PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM/COURSE PROPOSAL

A. PROGRAM / COURSE PROFILE

TITLE CLUSTER BASED IN-SERVICE TRAINING FOR

TEACHERS (INSET)FOR SCHOOL YEAR 2023-
2024

Rationale One of the department's program trusts is the

K–12 Basic Education Program, which would
cater our learners' lifelong learning in this new
normal. As a result, teachers must be equipped
with the necessary skills and tools to manage and
execute a meaningful learning process for their
learners. Professional development continues to
keep teachers abreast and updated on new
techniques and strategies as emerging technology
evolve for the classroom and new curriculum
resources.

In the continuous pursuit of excellence in

providing quality professional development
programs for teachers and school leaders, the
National Educators Academy of the Philippines
(NEAP) hereby issues the guidelines in the
conduct of the In-service Training for Teachers
(Inset)

As stipulated in Deped Order. No. 22 s. 2023

titled "Implementing Guidelines on the School
Calendar and Activities for the School Year
2023-2024", thus Palawan Cluster will conduct
the “CLUSTER BASED IN-SERVICE TRAINING
(INSET) FOR TEACHERS for S.Y. 2023-2024”
on January 24-26, 2024 for the teachers’
continued professional development. This
INSET serves as a vital step in empowering
teachers to address and resolve areas of need

identified and to continuously improve their
competencies.

As such, it shall focus on the teacher’s

learning and development needs and on sharing
information on the policies and priority programs
of the department of education.

Nevertheless, this was supported by the

Memorandum DM-OUHROD-2024-0037 issued
by the Office of the Department of Education on
January 11, 2024, directing and instructing
schools to conduct teacher training on January
24-26, 2024.

This face to face training focuses on the

strategies to address the needs of struggling
learners in literacy and numeracy; learning
remediation and intervention; socio-emotional
functioning, mental health, and well-being; and
professional development of teachers and it will
equip one or another on the appropriate Conduct
of School Related Activities for the Three Day Mid
Year Break which will run for three days from
January 24-26, 2024 to be participated by 25
teaching personnel.

Professional Development Priorities

The Professional Development Priorities shall support the realization of the Department’s
goal of continuous upskilling and reskilling of teachers and school leaders that will result
in better learning outcomes.
