Open Ended Post Lab

The document describes an open-ended lab experiment on designing and verifying a resistive voltage divider circuit. Students were tasked with designing two circuits meeting given specifications and experimentally validating that the circuits satisfy the specs. The document provides circuit diagrams, operating point values, experimental data sheets, and analysis verifying the circuits meet the specifications for voltage values, current, power dissipation, and tolerance thresholds.

OBJECTIVES: The objectives of this open-ended experiment are twofold. • First, to design a
resistive voltage divider circuit subject to given specifications. • Second, to design and conduct
an experiment to verify whether the designed circuit satisfies

2. Submit the experimental datasheet:

3.Verify which specifications are satisfied by the experimental data .
Circuit-1
R1=5.50Ω R4=35Ω
R2=69.10Ω R5=151.13Ω
R3=49.21Ω R6=1kΩ

Spercification 1:
Va=9V error=0%<4%
Vb=6.08V error=1.33%<4%

Circuit-2:(For use load 1kΩ)

Spercification 2:
Va=8.7V
Vb=5.7V
Spercification 3:
∆Va=9-8.7 = 0.3V< 0.5V
∆Vb=6.08-5.7 =0.38V<0.5V

Circuit-3:(use load 1kΩ)

Spercification 4:
Va=8.7V
Vb=6.15V
∆Va=9-8.7 =0.3V<0.5V
∆ Vb=6.08-57 = 0.15V<.05V
Spercification 5:(Use multimeter)
Current:
I=0.036A
Rs=R2+R3+R4+R5
=69.19+49.21+35+151.13
=304.44Ω
P=I2R
=(0.036)2×304.44
=0.394W

Spercification 6:
P2= (0.036)2×69.10 = 0.08W
P3=(0.036)2×49.21 = 0.23W
P4=(0.036)2×35 = 0.04W
P5=(0.036)2×151.13 = 0.19W
So,all specifications are verified
