ACTIVITY SHEET IN GRADE 5 MATHEMATICS

Name: __________________________ Grade Level and Section: ______

School: _________________________ Date: ______________________

Teacher: ________________________ Score: _____________________

I. Title: Using Divisibility Rules for 2,5, & 10

II. Learning Competency: Uses divisibility rules for 2, 5 and 10 to find

common factors (Qtr 1 W-1 M5NS – Ib – 58.1)

III. Instructions: This activity sheet focused on divisibility rules for 2,5,& 10.

Below are the activities that will help you understand more on this topic.

Read and understand the problem. Do what is directed in every activity.

IV. Activities

Sample Activity

Directions: Read the problem and find out if 70 is a factor of 2,5 &10.

Lita has 70 collected candy wrappers. Can she share that equally

to 2 friends? 5 Friends? 10 friends?

Procedure:

What is the meaning of divisibility?

Divisibility comes from the word divisible. A number is divisible by a certain

number if it is capable of being divided by another number without a
remainder. Example: “10 is divisible by 5” , “32 is divisible by 2” but “ 11
is not divisible by 2 because the answer is 5 remainder 1”

Divisibility rules for 2, 5, & 10:

 Divisibility rule for 2 : A number is divisible by 2 if the ones digit of the number is

2,4,6,8,or 0.

Example: Is 238 divisible by 2? Yes, because the ones digit , which is 8, is divisible

by 2. Therefore 238 is divisible by 2.

 Divisibility rule for 5: A number is divisible by 5 if the ones digit of the number is 0

or 5.

Example: Is 660 divisible by 5? Yes, because the ones digit of the number is

0.Therefore 660 is divisible by 5.

 Divisibility rule for 10: A number is divisible by 10 if the ones digit of the number is

0.

Example: Is 530 divisible by 10? Yes, because 530 has 0 in its ones digit.

To solve the problem, you need to know if 2, 5 and 10 are factors of 70 or if

70 is divisible by 2, 5 and 10.

Test if 70 is divisible by 2, 5,& 10 by checking the ones digit.

DIVISIBILITY TEST 70

By 2: Is the ones digit 0,2,4,6 or 8? YES

By 5: Is the ones digit 0 or 5? YES

By 10: Is the ones digit 0? YES

Since 70 is divisible by 2,5,& 10 or 2,5 & 10 are factors of 70, therefore Lita can share it

equally to 2 friends, 5 friends and 10 friends.

Activity 1 (Day 1)

Directions: Put a check under each column to identify whether each number is divisible by

2, 5 or 10.

2 5 10

Example: 6434 ∕

54180

912

2700

5605

568

3765

233

80

Activity 2 (Day 2)

Directions: Determine whether the first number listed is divisible by the second number.

Write Yes or No on the blank.

Yes or No

Example: 1. 30 ; 10 Yes
1. 45 ; 2 ____________

2. 5080 ; 5 ____________

3. 90 ; 5 ____________

4. 1180 ; 10 ____________

5. 6998 ; 2 ____________

Activity 3 (Day 3)

Directions: Read and analyze each situation then underline the correct answer.

Example: 1. 80 books are arranged in files. Each file has the same number of

books. How many books are there in each file without any left over?

( 5, 6, 8 , 9 )

1. Sidra wants to arrange 30 dolls on her cabinet. She wants to put the same

number of dolls in each row. How many rows could Sidra make without

any extra doll? (7, 8, 9, 10)

2. Sixteen dancers entered in a contest. Each group has the same number of dancers.

How many dancers could there be on a group? ( 10, 2, 3 , 5 )

3. Father has 25 coconut trees to plant. He wants to put the same number of trees in

each row with no extra trees. How many rows could Father make?

( 2, 3, 4, 5)

4. Which of the following numbers is divisible by 2? ( 257, 256, 133, 155 )

5. What numbers are divisible by 5 from 1 to 20? Write your answer on the

blank.______________________
V. Closure/What I have learned:

Now , I learned that a number is divisible by 2 if the last digit or the ones digit is

____,______, 6, _____, ____. It is divisible by______ if the ones digit is 0 or 5. It is

divisible by 10 if the number ends with _____.
