dense, low absorption, spraying applied mortar. The required low water / cement ratio ensures high early and ultimate strengths. The combination of microsilica and dry powder polymer modifiers results in a cured repair mortar with tenacious adhesion to the host concrete plus low permeability. Renderoc SP30's shrinkage - compensation minimizes the stresses on the bond line by reducing drying shrinkage to a very low level when properly cured. It is compatible with normal weight Portland Cement concrete. Properties Test Method Water : Powder Ratio Fresh Wet Density Compressive Strength BS 4551 Flexural Strength (ASTM C348) Slant materials ensures packaging Shear Bond 10.0 N/mm at 7 days 12.0 N/mm2 at 28 days >7.0 N/mm at 28 days

Advantages Early strength-develops strength rapidly allowing for high build without the use of accelerators. Shrinkage-compensated minimizes shrinkage crack and internal stresses acting at the bond interface. Low permeability provides protection against
gaseous carbon dioxide and chloride salt intrusion. Low rebound minimizes waste Reliability-factory proportioning, quality and controlled

Technical Support Fosroc offers a comprehensive range of high performance high quality, construction products. In addition to the wide range of quality products. Fosroc offers a technical support package to specifiers and contractors which includes assistance with product selection and technical advice from staff with unrivalled experience in the industry. Description Renderoc SP30 is a single component, specially
slumping. The material should be built up to the required thickness by applying wet on wet layers of material without allowing the previous layer to dry out. This is due to the excellent bond and compaction of the material.

The practical thickness which can be achieved on site will depend on the orientation of the substrate, the skill of the nozzle operator and the geometry of the repair area. Specification clauses The polymer modified reinstatement mortar shall be Renderoc SP30, a single component specially formulated combination of microsilica and with processed cement and carefully graded aggregate. This technology will result in a high build, low absorption machine applied repair mortar to which only the site-addition of clean water shall be permitted. Application Instructions Surface Preparation - Concrete Concrete substrate must be structurally sound. Loose or unsound concrete should be removed. Saw cut the edges of the repair locations to a depth of at least (12mm) to avoid feather edging and to provide a straight edge. Break out the complete repair area by mechanical means or by high pressure water-wash to a minimum depth of (12mm) up to the sawn edge. Clean the surface by removing any dust, unsound or contaminated material, plaster, oil, paint, grease, corrosion deposits or algae. Where breaking out is not required, roughen the surface and remove any laitance by mechanical means or high pressure water wash to a minimum (6mm) profile amplitude. All surface preparation procedures used on the concrete substrate should ensure that adequate mechanical key is achieved. Oil and grease deposits should be removed by steam cleaning detergent scrubbing or the use of a degreaser. To ensure optimum repair results, the effectiveness of decontamination should be assessed by a pull-off test. Surface Preparation - Reinforcing Steel Expose fully any corroded steel in the repair area to 100% of its circumference (ideally 20mm min. behind the steel) and remove all loose scale and corrosion deposits. Steel should be cleaned to a near white metal condition meeting the Swedish Standard of SA2 paying particular attention to the back of exposed steel bars. Priming of Reinforcing Steel Apply two coat of Nitoprime Zincrich by brush and allow to dry before continuing. Priming of Substrate The substrate should be sprayed with clean water until a saturated surface dry (SSD) condition immediately prior to commencing application of Renderoc SP30. (SSD = thoroughly soaked with clean water and any excess water removed) Mixing Renderoc SP30 should be emptied directly into the upper mixing hopper which should contain the specified amount of clean water. Two to three bags may be added in one mix and the mix should go on for minimum of 5 minutes but not more than 10 minutes. The mixed product should then be poured into the lower secondary mixer which will then screw feed the mixed product into the hose right up into the nozzle where the compressed air is introduced. Add approximately 4.254.75 litres of clean water to one 25 kg bag of Renderoc SP30. Water requirements may increase s lightly depending on ambient temperature. Abrasive blasting is recommended for this process .Where corrosion has occurred due to the presence of chlorides , the steel should be high pres sure washed with clean water modified with an approved corrosion inhibitor or steam immediately after abrasive blasting to remove corrosion deposits from the pits and imperfections in the steel surface. For further information see Nitoprime Zincrich date sheet All exposed steel reinforcing bars should be firmly secured to avoid movement during the application process as this will affect mortar compaction, build and bond. Mechanically fasten or weld all replacement steel or welded wire fabric to as sure electrical continuity. Replace steel which has lost significant section due to corrosion (say 10%). Add mesh or reinforcing steel to deep placement per ACI recommendations.

Equipment The Putzmeister Piston Pump or equivalent equipment are suitable as the spraying machine for Renderoc SP30. Please contact Fosroc should further information if required. Spray Application Prior to actual spray application, the flexible hose should be washed clean and condition with Renderoc SP30 slurry mix. Also ensure sufficient material is at site for a continuous and complete spray application. The spraying shall commence once the correct spray mortar consistency is achieved. The spraying should s tart at the perimeter edges and behind the steel reinforcement before spraying evenly over the entire repair surface. Renderoc SP30 may be build up wet on wet to a maximum thickness of 100mm. Additional thickness is only allowed after a 60 minutes interval. Any sagging or s lumping shall be immediately cut and remove from site. The final surface may be profile smooth by using steel or wooden trowel only after the mortar have set sufficiently to a trowelable consistency. However for satisfactory results, an experience concrete repair specialist in spray application is essential and highly recommended. Curing Renderoc SP30 is a cement based repair material. Proper curing is extremely important and Renderoc SP30 should be cured in accordance with good concrete practise by the use of high efficiency spray applied curing membranes such as Concure range or other approved methods. Protective Coatings In aggressive environments or service conditions All products have a shelf life of 12 months if kept in a dry store in the original, unopened bags or packs. Storage conditions Store in dry conditions in the original, unopened bags or packs. If stored at high temperatures and/or high humidity conditions the shelf life may be reduced to 4 to 6 months. Nitoprime AR Storage Shelf life : 6 to 8 m /litre

Precautions Health and safety Renderoc SP30 contains cement powders which, when mixed or become damp, release alkalis which can be harmful to the skin. During use, avoid inhalation of dust and contact with skin and eyes. Wear suitable protective clothing, gloves, eye protection and respiratory protective equipment. The use of barrier creams will provide additional skin protection In case of contact with skin, rinse with plenty of clean water, then cleanse with soap and water. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of clean water and seek medical advice. If swallowed, seek medical attention immediately do not induce vomiting. Fire Renderoc SP30 is non-flammable Additional Information Renderoc SP30 is part of a wide range of adhesives, repair mortars, sealing compounds and protective coating products specially designed and manufactured by Fosroc for the construction industry.
