Chapter 1 Introduction
1. Cautions in Handling
For using this product correctly and safely
• This Manual describes important items for using the product correctly and safely.
• Be sure to read the important items prior to use and use the product correctly in accordance with
this Manual.
• This Manual should be kept at a place for easy referring after it is read through.
2. Greeting
Thank you very much for your purchasing our product. This Manual describes setting/connecting
methods and functions/specifications, and you are requested to read it through before using the
product.
3. Cautions
1) No part of this Manual may be reprinted or reproduced without our permission.
2) We carefully prepared this Manual but if you have any doubts, please contact our Sales
Department.
3) It should be noted that our company is not responsible for any loss due to the result of using this
product and this Manual or compensation for any loss of profits, regardless of Item 2). (It is to be
agreed that our company is not responsible at all for any direct damage, incidental damage,
economic loss, and punitive damages.)
4) The model names and software versions described in this Manual are based on the information
confirmed at the time of preparing it. For the latest information, contact our Sales Department.
5) If any serious defect is found with the software, we will correct it and upload to our home page,
and you are requested to download it. For customers who have no Internet connection, our
company will send CD-ROM, etc. We, however, will not cope with any defect that will not affect
this function or due to external trouble (other software, PC hardware).

4. Product Warranty
For customers who bought this product from our company or agent, we assure the quality of this
product for one year for the hardware or 6 month for the software.
The warranty period of this product shall start from the day when the product is shipped to you from
our company or agent.
If any failure occurs within the warranty period, please send the product attached with a memo of
brief explanation of the trouble and address for sending it back, carriage prepaid, to our company or
agent. It will be repaired free of charge. If the trouble, however, is due to rough handling, modifying,
using for wrong purposes or failure to follow the instructions of the instruction manual, it shall be
outside this warranty.
5. Repairing
If any failure occurs during the use of this product, read the instruction manual again and check for
any wrong operation. If it is confirmed that the product involves any problem, send it, carriage
prepaid, to our company or agent. Please attach it with a memo showing brief explanation of the
trouble and your address for sending it back.
As soon as the product reaches us, we will check the operation and repair and then send it back to
you. If the product is subject to the warranty and within the warranty period, it will be repaired or
replaced free, but otherwise, the repairing cost will be charged to you.

Chapter 2 Hardware

The PC connector is used for connecting the communication adapter and PC using USB cable or
serial cable
Diagnosis connector
The diagnosis connector is used for connecting the connector for the diagnostic unit of vehicle and
the communication adapter.

Chapter 3 Connecting Method
1. Things to be prepared
• PC with the attached application software installed in it 1
• PC connecting cable 1
• Vehicle connecting cable 1
• Communication adapter 1
2. Connecting method
(1) Connect the PC connecting cable to the USB port (or serial port) of the PC.
(Tighten the screw of the connector when the serial port is used)
(2) Connect the PC connecting cable to the PC connector of the communication adapter. (Tighten
the screw when the serial cable is used)
(3) Connect the vehicle connecting cable to the vehicle connector of the communication adapter
and tighten the connector screw.
(4) Connect the diagnostic connector of the vehicle connecting cable to the diagnostic connector of
the vehicle.
! Cautions
• Before connecting, check the connectors and cables for any damage. If any is damaged, it should
be replaced with a new one.
• Check if the cables are not wet with water or oil. If so, they must be sufficiently dried before
using.
• When the connector is inserted or removed, the connector must be held instead of the cable.
• If any USB cable sold on the market is used, the length should be within 3 m.
• For connecting to the serial port, use the cloth serial cable.

3. Removing method
(1) Remove the diagnostic connector of the communication adapter from the diagnostic connector
of the vehicle.
(2) Remove the screw of the vehicle connector of the communication adapter and remove the
vehicle connecting cable.
(3) If the serial cable (RS232C) is used, remove the screw of the PC connecting cable.
Remove the PC connecting cable from the PC connector of the communication adapter.
(4) If the serial cable (RS232C) is used, remove the screw of the PC connecting cable.
Remove the PC connecting cable from the USB port (or serial port) of the PC.
! Cautions
• When the connector is inserted/removed, be sure to hold the connector instead of the cable.
• If the cable is wet with water or oil, wipe and dry it with cloth before storing it.

Installing Method
When the CD-ROM is set in the CD-ROM drive, the installer starts. If it does not start, directly
execute SETUP.EXE in the CD-ROM. For the executing method, see the Manual Help of each OS.
After the installer starts, install in accordance with the instructions of the screen.
Before installing, end all other applications. If this software was installed before, uninstall it before
installing. For the uninstalling method, see the Manual Help of each OS.
Outline of Product
This software is for conducting diagnosis of a vehicle equipped with ECU made by KEIHIN. Its
main functions are as follows.
(The usable functions and indication contents may differ depending on the vehicle connected.)
Outline of Functions
Environment setting
This function is to select an operating environment of the application (communication port and
log output destination).
ECU information
This function is to display the ECU and vehicle information presently installed in a vehicle. For
the details, ask the vehicle maker because the details to be displayed differ depending on the
vehicle.

For starting for the first time after installing, it is necessary to set communication port, etc. through the

environment setting. To open the environment setting, click on the [Config ] button or press F11 key.

Enter the password and press [OK ] or [Cancel ] and the environment setting screen is displayed. When

[OK ] is pressed, it is possible to change all the items, but when [Cancel ] is pressed, only

[Communication Port ] can be changed and [ECU Rewrite Information (Download) ] cannot be changed.

When the Combo box of [Communication Port ] is opened, the list of usable ports is displayed making port

changing possible. In the [ECU Rewrite Information ], the data folder (including BLZ files) to be referred

to when ECU rewriting is displayed. If you click on Browse , [Folder Select Screen ] is displayed and the
folder can be changed.

Each new environment setting value is saved and return is made to the main menu.

From the viewpoint of security, the password check is applied for some screens. The serial number of the
adapter is set as the default value of the password, and this password can be changed. To open the password

changing screen, click on [CHANGE PASSWORD ] button from the start screen.

If you enter [Old Password, New Password, Confirm the new passsword ] and press [OK ], the password
is changed.
In any of the following cases, the error message is displayed, and you should enter anew correctly.
• The old password is wrong
• A new password is not entered
• Difference between new password and new password (for confirming)

If [CANCEL ] is pressed, the password is not changed.

If you click on [Information ] (or F1 key), the password certifying screen is displayed.

If you click on [OK ], the ECU information screen to allow VIN changing is displayed.

If you click on [Cancel ], the ECU information screen (changing impossible) is displayed.

VIN can be changed by entering a new VIN No. in [VIN ] and pressing [OK ].
If VIN is wrong, the error message is displayed. Enter it again correctly.

If [Cancel ] is pressed, return is made to the ECU information checking screen without doing anything.

In [Data List ], the list of BLC files in the folder selected through the environment setting screen is

displayed. If you select a desired file from the [Data List ] and click on [Execute ] (or F8 key), the

password checking screen is displayed. If you press [OK ], advance is made to the rewrite (download)
checking screen.

If you press [Cancel ], return is made to the file select screen without rewriting (downloading).

If [Yes ] is pressed on the [Rewrite (Download) Checking Screen ], rewriting is started, and if [No ] is
pressed, return is made to the file select screen. During the rewriting (downloading), the progress is

displayed in the [Progress Situation ].

When the downloading is completed, [Download Complete ] is displayed, and when OK button is pressed,

return is made to the screen of [Data List ]. If the downloading is nor normally completed due to some

trouble, the error message is displayed in the [Download Complete ] screen.

After the downloading is completed, the VIN change screen is displayed. Enter [VIN No. ].

If [OK ] is pressed, the VIN is saved in the ECU and return is made to the file select screen.

6. When You Are in Trouble …
Cannot Start
1. Other application is started. This application cannot be used when any other application is started.
End all other applications before starting this application.
2. Windows used is other than Windows 2000/Windows XP. This application is only for
Windows 2000/Windows XP. It does not operate with Windows Windows 95, Windows NT,
Windows 98, and Windows ME. Prepare the Windows environment of either Windows 2000 or
Windows XP.
3. The system file used with the application is damaged. There is the possibility of the system file
used with this application being damaged or lost due to some reason. Uninstall this application
and install it again. If this application and data have been updated, they should be updated after
the reinstallation.
4. This application was executed with a vehicle equipped with ECU not corresponding to it. This
application does not operate with a vehicle equipped with ECU not corresponding to it. If the
vehicle is sold as corresponding from the maker, obtain the newest update data and install it.

New Password Was Forgotten
(1)
If the new password was forgotten, inform the [Enquiry Key ] displayed on the screen of the
password change error to the vehicle maker. A password temporarily usable will be issued. Set the
new password using it.
