Rationale

Power users in the BATELEC II-served areas complained about the high

generating rates charged to them and the frequent scheduled power outages. According

to them, there can be prolonged power outages that cause significant disruptions to

regular activities and significant financial losses for enterprises. (Residents Seek Better

Service from BATELEC II, 2023) Another affected industry is work-from-home

employees, who rely largely on regular service, including internet and electricity, to do

their daily activities. Aside from the difficulties to their lives and livelihoods caused by

frequent service outages, another concern is the pressure that unpredictable energy

places on their appliances.

In part of Batangas, researchers observe that BATELEC complications affect

Barangay Kaylaway, Nasugbu. Some people deal with power outages at their

establishments, which include milk tea, ice cream, shakes, and other enterprises that

depend on energy. Researchers also have experience in this kind of situation, doing

activities or projects that need to be completed the next day. The power shortage is one

of the most complicated experiences here in Kaylaway, Nasugbu.

A power inverter is one of the most crucial components of a solar and wind

energy system. This inverter converts direct current (DC) electricity into alternating

current (AC). The solar and wind energy systems offer DC output, while the inverter

converts DC to AC by swiftly flipping the direction of a DC input. As a result, a DC input

is converted into an alternating current output. Furthermore, filters and other electronics

can be used to provide a voltage that varies as a clean, repeating sine wave, which can

be fed into the power grid. A hybrid inverter is a piece of equipment that combines a
solar, wind, and battery inverter into a single device. This hybrid power inverter is also

IoT (internet of things) based, detecting all possible input and output charges in the

equipment. It can also monitor the equipment's battery utilization.

Objectives

The main objective of this study is to reduce the power consumed in a household

Specifically this study aims to:

1. To help those households to reduce electricity expenses

2. To help those communities that experiencing power shortage

3. To help those communities establish an eco-friendly operation.

Scope and Limitations

This study aims to build an inverter that will meet the user's preferences by

employing environmentally friendly energy (solar and wind energy), which is made up of

three (3) modules: solar modules, wind modules, and hybrid inverter modules.

Solar modules are solar panels that help to generate energy generated from

sunshine. Wind modules, like solar modules, are designed to generate electricity by

utilizing wind power. This module generates electricity, which the hybrid inverter module

converts into alternating current that can be used to power devices.

Significance of the Study

The beneficiaries of the study are the following:

Community

This study will help those experiencing power shortage in their community.

Households

This will help households gain information about alternative ways to save money

on electricity bills.

Rationale

Parking is a major concern at all educational institutions. Thousands of students

and staff must park their vehicles every day, making it difficult to find parking places,

especially during peak hours at this use case, researchers talk about parking challenges

and solutions at educational institutions. The primary goal is to propose practical tactics

and procedures for addressing parking issues at schools, universities, and other

educational facilities. Unauthorized parking is a major issue at educational institutions

that do not provide enough parking protection. This means that drivers who are not

affiliated with the educational institution (whether as an employee or a student) may

park in allocated parking places without permission. These parking spaces are normally

designated with a reserved parking sign, however this is not always sufficient to deter

unwelcome motorists.

In some part of Rogationist College, students, faculties and staff often encounter

challenges when trying to secure a parking space on the campus, leading to delays in

finding suitable parking spots. This issue can result in frustration and inconvenience ofr

students, particularly during peak times when parking availability is limited. Researchers

were also experienced difficulties during the previous Buwan ng Wika event, themed

"FILIPINO AT MGA KATUTUBONG WIKA: Wika ng Kapayapaan, Seguridad, at

Inklusibong Pagpapatupad ng Katarungang Panlipunan." During this event, issues

related to parking, such as insufficient parking spaces and parking in unauthorized slots

were encountered. By acknowledging and actively seeking solutions to parking-related

challenges, Rogationist College can enhance the overall campus experience for its
students, faculty, and staff, promoting efficiency, safety, and convenience for all

members of the community.

This has brought attention to the necessity for effective parking management

solutions. Thus, researchers illustrate the deployment of an IoT-based parking

management system that enables effective parking spot usage. To exemplify the notion,

researchers employ sensors to detect parking spot occupancy. It utilizes a wifi modem

for internet access and an AVR microcontroller to run the system. It also employs RFID

technology to detect when a vehicle arrives at the gate, allowing for automatic gate

opening. The system scans the number of available parking spaces and updates the

data with the cloud server, allowing users to verify parking spot availability online. This

allows customers to search for available parking spots online from any location and

enjoy hassle-free parking.

Objective

The objective of the study is to ensure that the parking system is good, this study aims

to:

1. To develop a systematic parking system

2. To obtain a parking spot less time-consuming.

Scope and limitation

This study intends to construct an IoT-based parking system that is made up of

two (2) modules: a sensor module and an RFID module.

The sensor module assists the system in determining whether the parking

system has slots; this module will offer an overview of whether the parking lot has slots.

The RFID module will be a gate pass or ID that may enable the guards to know if

people who would like to park may park; it will serve as the device that can be used

instead of the parking sticker.

Significance of the Study

The beneficiaries of the study are the following:

Rogationist College

This study will help the school develop an orderly parking system that will save

time searching for a parking spot and will also make the system more appealing to

visitors.

Student, visitors, and Faculty members

This study will help students, visitors, and staff members identify where they can

park without wasting time looking for a parking place.

Rationale

(Onufrak et al., 2014) studied about consumption of tap water and drinking

fountains. Ising national 2010 YouthStyles data to assess perceptions of tap water and

school water fountains and associations with water and SSB intake. Negative

perceptions of tap water and water fountains among youth are common and should be

considered in efforts to provide water in schools.

Researchers observed negative feedbacks about the school water fountain.

According to some Rogationist College students have expressed concerns about the

quality of the water in the campus fountain. Everybody needs water – It’s likely that

most use school drinking fountains. Whether to fill your water bottle at a refill station or

just stay hydrated at the park or gym – a drinking fountain can be convenient and

money-saving. But now, as students and teachers head back to school their primary

source of drinking water is probably a drinking fountain. You may be wondering “Are

drinking fountains safe?”

An IoT-based water quality monitoring system utilizes sensors to gather real-time

data about various parameters of water quality. These parameters typically include pH

levels, dissolved oxygen, turbidity, conductivity, temperature, and various pollutants

such as heavy metals or organic contaminants.

Objectives

The main objective of this study is to reduce the negative perceptions about the schools

drinking fountain specifically this study aims to:

1. To monitor the chemical levels of the drinking fountains

2. To decrease negative perceptions of dirty drinking fountains

3. To Utilize modern time components to help with problems

Scope and Limitations

This study aims to build a monitored drinking fountains in Rogationist College.

Drinking water quality monitoring system aims to make sure that every one who will

be drinking from the drinking fountains will feel safe every time they drink from it.

Having a monitored quality drinking water will ensure that the water coming from

drinking fountains is safe, clean, and monitored chemical levels.

Significance of the Study

The beneficiaries of the study are the following:

Rogationist College

This study will help the school to keep each water fountains monitored of their

chemical levels.

Student, visitors, and Faculty members

This study will help the student, visitors and faculty members to ensure that the

water they are drinking is safe.
