1 Introduction

1 Introduction
The Planmeca ProX X-ray unit produces intraoral X-ray images for the
diagnosis of teeth and adjacent structures. The unit is allowed to be used
only under supervision of a dental/ health care professional.
This manual contains all the information required to install and set up
the Planmeca ProX X-ray unit. Please read this manual carefully before
installing the X-ray unit.

NOTE
This manual is valid for software revisions 4.00 or later.

NOTE
The Planmeca ProX intraoral X-ray unit is allowed to be used only under
supervision of a dental/health care professional.

The Planmeca ProX intraoral X-ray unit fulfils the requirements of Directive
93/42/EEC.

WARNING
Do not connect a multiple portable socket outlet (MPSO) or extension cord
to the system.

WARNING
To avoid the risk of electric shock, the x-ray unit must be connected to a
protectively grounded power line.

WARNING
Failure to install the Planmeca ProX X-ray unit in an approved location may
be dangerous to both patient and operator.

WARNING
No modification of this equipment is allowed.
Do not modify this equipment without authorisation of the manufacturer.
If this equipment is modified, appropriate inspection and testing must be
conducted to ensure continued safe use of equipment.

CAUTION
While servicing and installing Planmeca ProX X-ray unit there must be
means to isolate its circuits electrically from the supply mains on all poles
simultaneously. Ensure that the mains plug is disconnected from the supply
mains or shall be capable of being locked in the off position.

1 Introduction

CAUTION
The unit contains hazardous voltages. While servicing internal parts, always
turn off externally the power to the unit, and wait for 2 minutes before
touching any electrical parts.
Always replace the fuses with ones of the same type and rating. Otherwise
patient, operator or equipment safety cannot be guaranteed.
The circuit boards can be damaged due to static discharges and require
careful handling.

CAUTION
It is very important that the room in which the Planmeca ProX X-ray unit is
installed and the position from which the equipment is operated are correctly
shielded against radiation.
Since radiation safety requirements vary from country to country and state
to state, it is the responsibility of the installer to ensure that all local and
national safety regulations are met.

NOTE
In case the Planmeca ProSensor digital intraoral sensor system is going to
be installed to the Planmeca ProX X-ray unit, use the ProSensor digital intra
X-ray system installation manual in conjunction with this manual.

3 Pre-installation requirements

3 Pre-installation requirements

3.1 Environmental requirements

3.1.1 Wall / ceiling construction


The wall / ceiling construction must be able to resist a shear load of 75
kg (170 pounds) and withdrawal force of 200 kg (445 pounds) at each of
the four attachment locations. Otherwise, some additional mounting supports
must be used to fulfill this requirement.

3.1.2 Floor construction


The floor construction must be able to resist a shear load of 75 kg (170
pounds) and withdrawal force of 440 kg (970 pounds) at each of the four
attachment locations.
Otherwise, some additional mounting supports must be used to fulfill this
requirement.

3.1.3 Temperature & humidity


The operating temperature range is from +5°C to +40°C, non condensing.
The acceptable humidity range is from 5% to 95%. The storage temperature
range is from -5°C to +60°C.

NOTE
If the X-ray unit has been stored at temperatures below +10°C for more
than a few hours, time must be allowed for the X-ray unit to reach the room
temperature before connecting it to the mains voltage.

3.2 Electrical requirements

3.2.1 Mains voltage


The X-ray unit has been preset at the factory to one of the 3 different mains
voltage settings. Check that the rating indicated on the type shield and the
mains voltage selector on the generator PCB (connector P4) corresponds to
the local mains voltage. The possible voltage settings are:
• 100V~
• 110-115V~
• 220-240V~

NOTE
Note that the ratings of the internal (as well as external) mains fuses are
depending on the mains voltage setting.

CAUTION
Never connect the X-ray unit to the mains without first checking the voltage
setting. Incorrect voltage setting can cause damage to the X-ray electronics.

3.2.2 Mains frequency


The mains frequency is 50 or 60 Hz, and is independent on the mains
voltage setting.

3.2.3 Internal mains fuse ratings


The X-ray unit is equipped with dual mains fuses (live and neutral). However,
in some areas it is not allowed to have a fuse in the neutral wire. The neutral
fuse is optionally bypassed at the factory, in which case the X-ray unit is
equipped with one mains fuse.
The ratings for the internal mains fuses are:
• Units with 100V~ or 110-115V~ voltage setting:
15AT, 250V, slow blow (6.3x32mm)
(special fuse, manufacturer Bussmann, type MDA)
• Units with 220-240V~ voltage setting:
8AT, 250V, slow blow (6.3x32mm)
(special fuse, manufacturer Bussmann, type MDA)

3.2.4 External mains fuse recommendation


The external mains fuses are:
• units with 100V~ or 115V~ voltage setting: 16A, time lag
• units with 220-240V~ voltage setting: 10A, time lag
No other equipment should be connected to the same fused mains line as
the X-ray unit. In some countries an additional external fault current guard is
also required.

3.2.5 Grounding
The X-ray unit must always be connected to a grounded outlet to fulfill the
safety directives stated.

3.2.6 Power consumption


The idle power consumption is less than 30VA. Maximum power
consumption is 1000VA and occurs during the exposure (maximum
exposure time is 2.0 seconds).

5.1 Mounting alternatives

NOTE
The X-ray unit can be installed in several ways. Read these installation
instructions carefully, because some installation accessories are optional,
and are not included in the standard delivery. Make sure that required
accessories are available before starting the installation.

The following cables are used in some installations described in this section:

6.1 Attaching control panel holder to generator housing


Drill two ø3.5 - 4 mm (0.14 - 0.16 in.) holes for the control panel holder to
the generator housing. The hole positions are marked to the inner side of the
cover with collars.

Attach the control panel holder to the generator housing with the two PT
3x22 rst WN1451 screws.

The control panel holder can be attached either to the left or right side of the
adapter plate (arrows).

Attach the control panel holder to its assembly plate with two PT 3x22 rst
WN1451 screws.

7.1 Attaching adapter plate to wall
Attach the adapter plate to the wall according to the following instructions.

A Wall made of concrete or brick


1 M8 x 30 DIN 912
2 ø10 mm (0.4 in.), 32 - 35 mm (1.25 in.) deep
B Wall made of wood or plaster
3 ø8 x 80 DIN 571
4 ø5 mm (0.2 in.), 55 - 60 mm (2.2 in.) deep
• If the wall is made of concrete or brick, use the M8x30 DIN 912 screws
and the expansion anchors

NOTE
The minimum clearance widths for the installation vary according to the
length of the X-ray unit's extension arm.
• If the wall is made of wood or plaster, use the ø 8x80 DIN 571 lag
screws
Do not use the expansion anchors with wooden or plaster wall.
Use the adapter plate as a template and mark the positions where the holes
for the attaching screws will be drilled. Use a spirit level to ensure that the
adapter plate will be level.
To correctly prepare a concrete or brick wall for the adapter plate installation:
1. Drill a ø10 mm (0.4 in.) hole, 32 - 35 mm (1.25 in.) in depth.
Remove dust from the drill hole with a vacuum cleaner or compressed
air.

2. Place an expansion anchor in the hole and hammer into place.

3. Hammer the wedge into the hole with a ø6 mm drift and hammer.

The X-ray unit must be positioned in accordance with the information given
in the installation pattern supplied with the unit.
The X-ray unit should be positioned within the reach of the power supply
cable 3 m (118 in.). In the case that concealed wiring is used, the cable
outlet should be positioned to the upper part of the adapter plate (grey area
on figure below).

If the wall is made of concrete or brick, use the four side attachment
openings (white arrows in the figure below).
If the wall is made of wood or plaster, attach the plate to the wall with as
many screws as possible to make the attachment as strong as possible.
You can also use the three middle attachment openings (black arrows in the
figure below) if you attach the plate to the wall supporting rail.

7.1.1 Concealed wiring with metallic armor


If the concealed wiring with metallic armor is used, the cable outlet should be
positioned according to the figures below.

The metallic armor is secured with the attachment plate to the adapter plate
(see figure above). Attach the plate to its position with two M4x8 DIN 912
screws using a 3 mm Allen key. Attach the metallic armor to the plate with
a RACO connector: RACO 3/8” Straight Squeeze 2191 for 3/8” armor and
RACO 1/2” Straight Squeeze 2192 for 1/2” armor.

Strip the mains cable outer jacket and the jackets of cable leads as shown
on the figure below.

7.2 Installing extension arm

NOTE
Before attaching the extension arm, add a small amount of grease to the
extension arm bearings to enable smooth arm movement.

1. Remove the friction piece by unscrewing the adjustment screws (1).

2. Route the grounding cable (2) through the wall adapter bearing.
3. Mount the arm into position by pushing the arm shaft (3) into the wall
adapter bearing.
4. Use a spirit level to check that the arm is horizontal when set to the left
and the right. Adjust the arm position, if needed.

To adjust arm position:

1. Unlock the arm shaft by loosening the three arm shaft screws (black
arrows, figure abowe).
2. Adjust the arm position with the three adjustment screws (white
arrows).
3. Lock the arm shaft by tightening the arm shaft screws.
5. Check the arm alignment using a spirit level, moving the arm from
left position to right as in the image below. Take careful note of the
alignment.
In the following image, the balance is incorrect even though the right-
hand alignment is horizontal.

6. Adjust the arm so that the alignment on the left offsets the alignment
on the right. If the spirit level shows that the arm is off-horizontal in
one direction, balance the arm so that it is off-horizontal in the opposite
direction in its second position. See the image below.

7. Adjust the arm in its respective positions by using the screws shown in
the image below.

8. Lock the arm shaft with the three attachment screws as described
above.

9. Attach the rotation limiter pin to its position.

10. The arm position is adjusted at the factory. In case the position needs to
be adjusted, turn the adjustment screws located on the both sides of the
bearing.

7.3 Attaching bracket arm

CAUTION
Care must be taken when assembling the arm for not to damage the arm
cable.

Assemble the bracket arm to the extension arm by pushing the bracket arm
shaft into the housing.

Secure the bracket arm with the locking plate.

Attach the arm grounding lead to the bottom of the extension arm.

When attaching the grounding cable, position the lock washer between the
frame and the cable connector.

Route the cables through the extension arm.

It is recommended to use cable installation tool (part number 10033043) to
sheath the cable heads and better enable their routing through the extension
arm

Adjust the arm rotational friction with the adjustment screw (1). Tightening
the screw increases the friction.

NOTE
After the bracket arm is installed at the end of the extension arm, its weight
can pull the extension arm downwards. After the bracket arm is installed,
check the horizontal balance of the extension arm again.

7.4 Installing generator assembly


Attach the Planmeca ProSensor data cable to the connector located behind
the generator assembly.

There are four M4x8 ULS screws attached to the adapter plate at the factory.
Loosen these screws a couple of turns with a 2.5 mm Allen key. Slip the
generator assembly under the heads of the screws.

Secure the generator assembly into position by tightening the four screws
through the openings on the generator PCB.

Connect the grounding lead coming from the extension arm to the grounding
point located on the left side of the generator assembly.

Secure the grounding lead to the upper edge of the generator assembly with
a cable tie.

7.5 Connecting cables

WARNING
Ensure that the power supply is switched off before connecting the cables.

7.5.1 Arm cable


Connect the control leads of the arm cable (6-pole connector) to the terminal
P8 on the generator PCB. Connect the power leads (3-pole connector) of the
arm cable to the terminal P1 on the generator PCB. Snap the ferrite to the
arm cable as shown on the figure below.
Connect the grounding lead of the arm cable to the grounding point located
on the upper edge of the generator assembly. Secure the cables to the
upper edge of the generator assembly with a cable tie.

Push the excess cables into the extension arm.

Attach the end cover to its position.

7.5.2 Mains cable (concealed wiring)


In the case that mains voltage is supplied via concealed wiring route the
mains cable between the adapter plate and the generator assembly.
Connect the grounding lead to the grounding point on the mains input
terminal. Connect the neutral lead to the mains input terminal (P5) marked
N. Connect the live lead to the mains input terminal (P5) marked L.

NOTE
The figure above shows a concealed wiring setup with a metallic armour
attachment plate (1). The mains cable without metallic armor is routed and
connected in the same way.

7.5.3 Mounting generator housing


Place the generator housing over the generator assembly. Secure the cover
into position with four attachment screws.

NOTE
If the extension arm is not attached to the generator box, attach the
generator cover plug to the generator housing with one attachment screw
using a T10 Torx key.

7.5.4 Connecting control panel cable


Connect the control panel cable (1) to its terminal at the underside of the
generator box.

8 Ceiling installation
Two versions of the ceiling columns are available. A version that can be
used in rooms up to 2460 mm (97”) in height, and a version that can be used
in rooms up to 3080mm (121") in height. An adjustable ceiling adapter can
be used, if needed. Refer to section "Adjustable ceiling adapter" on page
53.

8.1 Concrete ceiling


Mark the place of the adapter plate to the ceiling. Drill one ø10 mm (0.4 in.),
32...35 mm (1.25 in.) in depth, hole and place the expansion anchor into it.
Attach the adapter plate to the ceiling with one of the fastening screws.
Remove the adjustment nuts from the three mounting holes. Attach the
drilling tool to one of the holes and drill the second hole using the drilling tool
as a guide. Drill the two other holes in the same way. Remove the adapter
plate and insert the expansion anchors into the holes.

Attach the plate (1) to the ceiling with four M8x35 DIN 912 screws and
ø8.4/17 DIN 125 washers. Use the adjustment nuts and the adjustment
plates with the screws at each corner of the adapter plate.

8.2 Wooden ceiling


Attach the adapter plate to the ceiling with four ø8x80 DIN 571 lag screws.
Do not use the expansion anchors with wooden ceiling. Use the adjustment
nuts and the adjustment plates with the screws at each corner of the adapter
plate.

NOTE
The extension cable and Planmeca ProSensor data cable must be lead so
that the cables reach the lower edge of the ceiling arm opening.

Route the cables through the arm adapter. Attach the arm adapter to the

Attach the grounding lead to the arm adapter.

Shorten the ceiling column if needed. You have to drill ø10 mm hole to the
shortened arm. Drill the opening to the opposite side of the column than the
cable opening (3 in the figure below) and 131 mm distance from the new
upper edge.
Attach the mounting rings (1) to the arm (2). Do not tighten the screws yet.

NOTE
If the optional adapter cover (1) is used, attach it to its position before
attaching the ceiling column (2).
Use the adapter cover if the ceiling does not cover the adapter plate. Set the
opening away from the patient chair (3).

Install the ceiling column to the adapter as follows.


Position the arm according to the figure below, with the opening away from
the patient chair (1).

Move the lower mounting ring to the position shown on the figure below
(measures in mm). Attach the ceiling column to the adapter with the lower
mounting ring as follows. Attach the M8 x 16 attachment screw to the hole
located on the arm. Tighten three mounting ring securing screws firmly.

Move the upper mounting ring to the position shown on the figure above.
Tighten the upper mounting rings’ screws firmly.

With a spirit level make sure that the ceiling column is vertical. Adjust its
position with the adjustment nuts (1), if needed.

Attach the plastic bushing to the ceiling column end.

Make sure that you have a extension arm to which the bracket arm is
attached upwards (i.e. joint upwards). Place the extension arm to its position
and attach it with the outer, upper attachment screw M5x10 DIN 7991 (1 in
the figure below). Do not tighten the screw firmly yet.
Attach the inner, lower securing screw M4x8 DIN 914 to its position (2 in the
figure below). You can reach the inner screw hole through the outer screw
hole. Tighten the screw firmly.

Attach the outer, lower attachment screw M5x10 DIN 7991 (3 in the figure
below). Do not tighten the screw totally. Tighten the outer, upper attachment
screw firmly (4 in the figure below). Tighten the outer, lower attachment
screw.
The extension arm position is adjusted slightly upwards with the inner, lower
and outer, upper attachment screws.

Install the X-ray unit to the extension arm as described in section "Attaching
bracket arm" on page 29. Tape the arm cable and ProSensor data cables
so that the connectors are consecutively. Attach a draw cord to the cables.
Route the cables through extension arm and ceiling column to the ceiling
column opening.

8.3 Adjustable ceiling adapter


Concrete ceiling: Mark the place of the adapter plate to the ceiling. Drill
six ø10 mm (0.4 in.), 32...35 mm (1.25 in.) in depth, holes and place the
expansion anchors into them.
Insert the expansion anchors into the holes. Attach the upper part of the
adapter to the concrete ceiling with six M8x30 DIN 912 screws and ø8.4/17
DIN 125 washers.
Wooden ceiling: Attach the upper part of the adapter to the wooden ceiling
with six ø8x80 DIN 571 lag screws. Do not use the expansion anchors with
wooden ceiling.
Adjust the height of the ceiling adapter so that the lower plate of the adapter
is on a level with the ceiling. Lock the lower part to the upper part with the
eight M8x16 DIN 912 screws and M8 DIN 934 nuts.

Steps
1. Select the installation height according to the instructions given in Single
stud installation template (publication number 10035371).

1.a. Use the installation template or the single stud frame (1) as a
template and use a spirit level to make sure that the frame is
vertical (2).
1.b. Mark the positions (3) where the holes for the attaching screws will
be drilled.
2. Attach the single stud frame to the wall.
• If the wall is made of concrete or brick, drill ø10mm (0.4 in.), 32 - 35
mm (1.25 in.) in depth, holes and place the expansion anchors into
them. Tighten the anchors with hammer and wedge.
• If the wall is made of wood, drill ø5 mm (0.2 in.), 75 mm (3 in.) in
depth, holes for the attachment screws.

2.a. Route the cables through the opening on the frame (2).
2.b. The single stud frame (1) must be attached to the wall with six
screws.
• If the wall is made of concrete or brick, use the M8x18 DIN

• If the wall is made of wood or plaster, use the ø8x80 DIN 571
lag screws (6) and ø8.4 DIN 125 washers (3).
Do not use the expansion anchors with wooden wall.

• Make sure that the extension cable extends 280 mm (11 in.) out from
the wall (1).
• If the interconnection cable is lead from the wall, make sure that it

11. Mounting the extension arm.

11.a. Route the arm and ProSensor cables through the arm adapter.
11.b. Mount the extension arm into position and use a spirit level (1) to
check that the arm is horizontal in three directions (2, 3 and 4).

(5), if needed.
For more information on balancing the extension arm, see section

12. Attach the rotation limit spacer and M8x10 DIN 912 screw to its position
using a 4 mm Allen key (1).

You can change the bracket arm movement area with two securing
screws (2 and 3). Loosening the screws will narrow the movement area.
Adjust the arm rotational friction with the adjustment screw (4), tightening
the screw increases the friction.

14.a. Use the holder attachment hook (6) as a template and mark the
positions of the attachment holes (3) to the cover.
14.b. Drill two ø4 mm (0.16 in.) holes for the control panel holder to the
generator housing.
14.c. Insert two M4x8 DIN 912 screws (4) and two M4 DIN 9021 fender
washers (5) inside the housing.
14.d. Insert the holder attachment hook (6) to screws and attach it with
two M4 DIN 9021 fender washers (7) and M4 nuts (8).

NOTE
The concrete or stone floor must be at least 100 mm (4 in.) thick.

1. Use the floor stand attachment plate as a template and mark the
positions of the attachment holes gently using a 10 mm size drill.

2. Use the M8x60 DIN 912 screws (1 in the figure below), washers (2 in the
figure below) and PFG ES 8-50 anchors (3 in the figure below) supplied
with the floor stand. Drill 14 mm (0.6 in.) holes until the required depth
of 55 mm (2.2 in.) (4 in the figure below). Clean the dust caused by the
drilling from the holes with a vacuum cleaner or with compressed air.

3. Attach the anchors (4 in the figure below) to the floor (refer also to
the anchor manufacturer’s instructions). Make sure that the distance
between the anchor and floor edge is at least 75 mm (2 in.).

4. Attach the plate to the floor with the screws (1 in the figure below) and
DIN 125 8.4 washers (2 in the figure below). Tighten the screws with
25 Nm installation torque. Note, that it is really important to tighten the
screws, this will ensure that the anchors are tightened firmly against the
concrete.

If it is not possible to attach the Planmeca ProX X-ray unit to the floor in the
standard way, a single-stud installation setup can be substituted.
As well as the main Planmeca ProX installation kit, this optional installation
variant requires the following additional parts (available upon request):

1. Attach the adapter plate to the column using three screws.
2. Feed the cabling up through the pillar and through the adapter plate as

3. Place the blanking plug in position at the base of the pillar, and directly
under the single stud (1 in the image above).
4. Attach the single stud frame to the adapter plate using the six
attachment screws and washers.
5. Connect the cabling and extension arm as described in section "Single
stud installation" on page 55.

Follow the steps below to install the Planmeca ProX with the mobile base.
1. Attach the wheel assemblies to the base plate with three M10x40 DIN
912 screws using a 8mm Allen key.

2. Rotate the column holder (2, located in the column) so that the base
plate can be attached to the column (1, base plate’s and column’s screw
holes in line). Make sure that the gap between the column edge and

3. Attach the base plate to the column with four M10x40 DIN 912 screws
using a 8mm Allen key. Check that the column is vertical with e.g. a spirit
level.

The attachment point measures are:


• 40 mm (1.6 in.) from the upper edge (1)
• 25 - 40 mm (1 - 1.6 in.) from the adapter (2)
14.a. Use the holder attachment hook (6) as a template and mark the
positions of the attachment holes (3) to the cover.
14.b. Drill two ø4 mm (0.16 in.) holes for the control panel holder to the
generator housing.
14.c. Insert two M4x8 DIN 912 screws (4) and two M4 DIN 9021 fender
washers (5) inside the housing.
14.d. Insert the holder attachment hook (6) to screws and attach it with
two M4 DIN 9021 fender washers (7) and M4 nuts (8).
14.e. Attach the plate (10) to the holder (9) with two PT 3x8 WN 1451
screws.
14.f. Press the holder (11) to the attachment hook (6).

NOTE
You can also attach the control panel to a wall, refer to section "Remote
control panel installation" on page 103.
15. Push the excess cables into the extension arm and attach the end cover
to its position.

bottom with one M5x20 BN 1206 screws (2) using a 2.5 mm Allen

WARNING
Ensure that the power supply is switched off before connecting the cables.

NOTE
Use the telephone cable (max. 12 m) between the generator box and the
data wall socket.

Attach the frame of the data wall socket to the wall with two ø4x30 DIN 7981
screws. If the wall is made of concrete or brick, drill ø6 mm (0.23 in.), 32 -
35 mm (1.25 in.) in depth, holes and place the expansion anchors into them.
If the wall is made of wood or plaster, attach the frame to the wall with two
ø4x30 DIN 7981 screws to the wall without drilled holes. Do not use the
expansion anchors with wooden or plaster wall.
The data wall socket frame has a selection of possible through-holes (1) for
the cable.

Route the telephone cable through the hole on the side or bottom of the
frame. Assemble the data wall socket according to the figure above.

If a telephone cable (MHS 1x4x0.5 or equal, fulfilling IEC 60332, e.g.
06320032 Telephone cable 12 m) is used between the data wall socket
and the remote control panel, connect the telephone cable between the

Attach the plate to the holder with two PT 3x8 WN 1451 screws. Press the
control panel holder to the attachment hook. Attach the control panel to the
holder and connect the control panel cable to the control panel and to the

can not be drilled (e.g. glass).

15.4 Attaching fixed control panel to bottom plate


In case the telephone cable is routed to the Extension cable PCB via the
wall surface, remove the cover from the right-hand side knock-out opening.

Press the fixed control panel to its position so that the mounting pins located
on the bottom plate hit the mounting springs on the control panel. Secure the
control panel to its position with one attachment screw.

The optional remote exposure switch is attached to the wall socket with two
attachment screws. The exposure switch cable can be connected to the
Generator PCB or to the fixed control panel as shown on the figure below.

16.1 Disabling exposure key on control panel


The exposure key on the control panel can be disabled as follows.
Enter the service mode: Press and hold down the Select key for 4 seconds.

Press and hold down the Mode key for more than 2 seconds, until the four
uppermost preprogrammed setting indicator lights come on.

Press the parameter adjustment up key until the parameter number 18


appears on the kV display.
The number indicating the mode of exposure key operation is shown on the
time display.
0 = exposure key normal operation, 1 = exposure key operation disabled.
The factory default is 0.
Press the Select key until the number starts to blink, and the value can now
be changed with the parameter adjustment keys. Select the number 1.

Accept the number 1 setting by pressing the Select key.

Press the Mode key briefly to exit the service mode.

19.1 Adjusting balance of the bracket arm
Adjust the balance of the arm by turning the adjustment nuts with a slot head
screwdriver. Tightening the nut will increase the tension.
Note that there are two arms, adjust them both.

If needed, increase the arm friction after adjusting the balance with the
adjustment screw using a slot head screwdriver. Tightening the screw will
increase the friction.

Place the arm cover to its position. Tighten three attachment screws using
a 3 mm Allen key and insert the cover plugs to the screw openings. Attach
also the cover of the other arm.

Running in the X-ray unit


After installation, before using the unit for the patient work, the following
exposures must be taken to run in the unit.
Switch the unit on. The on/off switch is located under the generator box.

Take three exposures with exposure values 60 kV and 0.05 seconds.

Take three exposures with exposure values 70 kV and 0.1 seconds.

Take three exposures with exposure values 70 kV and 1.0 seconds.
