Sprint Reflection #1

During my extensive educational journey, opportunities to gain practical insights into the
workings of the industry outside the classroom were rather scarce. However, when the chance
finally presented itself, it felt like peering through a window into my near professional future. The
influence of my sister, who works as a developer, has been a constant source of motivation for me.
I've always aspired to emulate her, if not surpass her, when I eventually embark on my own career.
Thus, when I was entrusted with the roles of Developer and Designer within the team, I felt a
profound sense of joy in fulfilling my assigned responsibilities.

These responsibilities encompassed a multifaceted approach to web development,

including creating prototypes that delineated the website's design before the actual coding process
began. Engaging in this dual role has been a source of immense satisfaction for me. It is a position
that perpetually fuels my appetite for learning and innovation. The process is dynamic and full of
opportunities to implement the lessons I've acquired. Yet, there are moments when I find myself
grappling with seemingly unsolvable coding challenges. Those instances of being stuck on a
problem are among my chief frustrations. Not being able to complete a section of code stands as a
personal pet peeve. In my self-evaluation, I remain humble and believe I am yet to fully prove my
worth to the team. Nonetheless, I am resolute in my commitment to exceeding their expectations
through continuous growth and dedication.

Upon meeting my team, I was greeted with a mix of new and familiar faces, a prospect that
filled me with enthusiasm. Our interactions have taken various forms, ranging from digital chats
on messenger platforms to in-person meetings. What has struck me most about our team dynamics
is our ability to complement one another seamlessly. We synchronize well, working harmoniously
in our respective phases without exerting undue pressure on one another. We take pride in our
collective achievements, regularly celebrating even the smallest victories and incremental
progress. However, this shared comfort sometimes translates into a propensity to rush through
tasks, which can compromise the overall quality of our work. My suggestion to the team is to
maintain our effective collaboration but to refine our sense of time management. Setting clear
deadlines and discerning when to relax and when to intensify our efforts will be pivotal in
maintaining the quality of our work. Currently, we've implemented a weekly progress update every
Wednesday, enabling us to closely monitor everyone's contributions.
Our ongoing project has been a delightful journey so far, marked by a well-structured
workflow and a strong adherence to established timelines. Nevertheless, we encounter a persistent
challenge – the periodic uncertainty about whether we are on the right track. This occasional sense
of being adrift and the need to ascertain the overall progress of the project can be somewhat
daunting. We are resolved to overcome this challenge, reorient ourselves, and regain our clarity
regarding the project's trajectory. Our goal is to maintain the high standards we have set for
ourselves and keep producing exceptional work in a supportive and collaborative environment.

In alignment with the La Sallian core values, my utmost commitment is to actively engage
in community service and aid those who require assistance. It is my personal mission to leverage
the advantages I have, thanks to the advancements in technology, to benefit those in need. I
wholeheartedly embrace challenges as opportunities for growth and personal development. Instead
of fearing failure, I view it as a valuable teacher, a repository of lessons that I'll use to avoid
repeating the same mistakes.
