1. INTRODUCTION

This fuel filters are design primarily for installation in which there is an accumulated water and dirt on the diesel fuel.
Water and solids contaminants displace the diesel fuels lubricative properties, the loss of this result in wear,
erosion, surface pitting and eventually fuel pressure loss resulting in engine injector pump and nozzle damage.
Double manifolds fuel filter skids are frequently used where the supply of diesel fuel comes from a large bulk tank.
The filters have nearly 22 square meters of filtering surface to effectively separate water and dirt from the fuel.
Aggreko has a range of filter skids adapted specifically to the diesel engine generator fleet.
The filters are mounted in a steel frame with lifting eye and forklift pockets for easy movement and installation.

PRIMING METHODS
A. Head Pressure — If the storage thank is higher than the
DAHL
unit, head pressure (not to exceed 15 psi) can be used to prime
the filter.
1. Open the top air vent valve.
2. Make sure the side and bottom drain valves are closed.
3. Open the fuel supply shut-off valve.
4. When diesel fuel comes out at the air vent valve, close the
valve. The unit is now primed and ready.
B. Manual and Pump Filling - If no head pressure is available,
filling with a funnel or a pump is recommended.
1. Open the top air vent valve.
2. Make sure the side and bottom drain valves are closed.
3. a) Funnel Filling: Remove the primer plug and fill.
b) Pump Filling: Attach a pump line to the 1/2 inch side
drain valve. Pump slowly. Do not exceed 15 psi.
4. Fill the unit with approximately 55 gallons or until fuel
comes out the air vent valve.
5. a) If filled by funnel: Replace the primer plug. Use a thread
sealer.
b) If filled by pump: Close side the 1/2 inch drain valve.
6. Close the top air vent.
