General Instructions

To use the supplied tablet:

1. The tablets are initially set up with a temporary Academy 147 Tablets account. For the best experience, we
recommend that you log in to your own google account when you start using the tablet. To do this:
a. If you haven't already, set up a Google account.
b. Open the tablet’s Settings app.
c. Tap Accounts and then Add account and then Google .
d. Follow the instructions to add your account.
e. You may now delete the [email protected] account.

2. Open the Academy 147 Training Viewer app

3. Tap on the chapter you wish to open


4. Enter your pin (if prompted)
5. The app works similarly to most document viewers on the market. Full instructions and features are outlined
in the following pages of this document.

To view the notes on a laptop or other device running Microsoft Windows™:

1. Insert the USB drive


2. (Optional) Copy the documents (.drmz files) in the Course Notes folder to a permanent location on your
computer, such as your My Documents folder, for safekeeping
3. Run the Academy 147 viewer by double-clicking the executable file (Academy 147 Viewer.exe)

4. Open the desired chapter using the File -> Open menu in the viewer
5. The first time you open a document, you will be prompted for your personal authorization code. This code is
contained in a text file on the USB drive, named Your Code.txt. After entering your code, the document will
be authorised for use with that device (provided the pin is valid) and the pin will not need to be entered to re-
open the same document.

Students are permitted to unlock a limited number of device installations with the same authorization code. If you
require additional device installations please contact us and we will be happy to issue additional authorization codes.

Installation
Run the executable file to install the training viewer.

The viewer functions similarly to other pdf readers. Hover over the buttons in the program for a description of their
function.

Opening Course notes


To open course notes use the File -> Open menu inside the application menu:

Then select the desired chapter from the course notes folder:

Authorization
The first time a chapter is opened, you will be asked for your authorization code. Enter it in this screen. By default a
code will allow you to unlock the course notes on a limited number of devices (typically 2 or 3). If you require additional
device installations please contact us for assistance.

Once authorised, the same document may be opened again on the same computer without having to enter the code
again.

Main Screen
The main screen allows you to view and open chapters. The following is an overview of the available functions:

This page provides settings for display mode, pen writing and rectangle colour

Authorization
The first time a chapter is opened, you may be asked for your authorization code. Enter it in this screen. If you are
using the tablet supplied with the course, this step has already been done for you.

Viewing the Notes
Opening a chapter will take you to the first page of that chapter. The usual gestures (drag to navigate and pinch to
zoom) are supported.

Tap a highlighted link to jump to that section

Document Outline
The outline is accessed by tapping in the menu. It lists the main document headings. Tapping a heading will take
you directly to that section.

Tapping anywhere on the screen (except a highlighted link) will bring up the chapter options.
