This document contains important information about the latest features and known limitations of DataSunrise
Database Security 9.3. It also contains information about the previous versions of DataSunrise.

1.1 New features

DataSunrise Database Security 9.3 includes the following features and enhancements:
1. Implemented the Hide Objects masking method for MongoDB for Dynamic Masking (see the Creating a Dynamic
Data Masking Rule subsection of the User Guide).
2. Added the possibility to view Data Discovery results as a tree with two options: by Path and by Information Types
that are of your convenience (see the Periodic Data Discovery subsection of the User Guide).
3. Implemented integration with the CyberArk Central Credential Provider (CCP) to store and retrieve passwords
on demand (see the Using CyberArk Central Credential Provider for Retrieving Passwords subsection of the User
Guide).
4. This version enhances the stability and reliability of DataSunrise.
Other features
5. The hourly billing subscription is now available for the Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
6. Updated the minimum hardware requirements and configurations (see the System Requirements subsection of
the User Guide).

1.2 Known limitations

The following tables describe known bugs and limitations:
Athena

- If an operation is interrupted because of a disconnect, DataSunrise doesn't continue processing
of the operation when the connection is restored.
- Operations used in sessions that were created after the session the operations had been
created in, can't be tracked.

Elasticsearch

- Depersonalization in Painless scripts, Expression scripts, Mustache scripts, Java scripts is not

2.1 DataSunrise 9.2 features

1. Implemented Agent library as a new Operation Mode. DataSunrise Agent installs on the Oracle Server and
enables to monitor activity in the database (see the DataSunrise Operation Modes subsection of the User
Guide).
2. Now Data Discovery is available for Google Cloud BigQuery (see the Supported Database and Features
subsection of the User Guide).
3. Added Local storage (Windows, Linux) support for Data Discovery. Enables to search sensitive data in local

discovering sensitive data across large volumes of data hosted on AWS S3. This functionality enables scanning of
random portions of data to speed-up Data Discovery process. Refer to section "Randomized Data Discovery" of
the User Guide.
3. Implemented the possibility of splitting and rerunning failed batches (failed Data Discovery tasks) when running
Multiprocess Data Discovery on AWS S3 buckets.
4. Created a Helm chart (a dedicated package) for installing and running DataSunrise on Kubernetes.

• Mask Data Consistently using masking cache. This enables you to use a fixed value generated randomly
• Alphabet for FPT String and FPE String masking methods. This functionality enables you to select an alphabet
to use some characters specific for certain languages while doing encryption.
7. Added Alternative masking method setting to Compliance and Information Types' settings. It is to be used when
a column to be masked is related to another column by a foreign key (see subs. "Creating a New Information
Type" of the User Guide).

2.7 DataSunrise 8.1.0 features

1. Implemented DataSunrise interaction with Snowflake web-based graphical interface: now you can establish a
connection between Snowflake and a DataSunrise proxy.
2. Added the option of storing passwords in Azure Key Vault: available for target database passwords, SMTP Server
passwords, LDAP Server passwords, Audit Storage passwords.
3. Implemented audit data export to an Elasticsearch database and visualizing the data with Kibana (refer to subs.
"Integrating Elastisearch and Kibana with DataSunrise" of the User Guide).
4. Implemented the possibility of changing DataSunrise's Dictionary to a remote database using the DataSunrise's
Web Console. Since the integrated SQLite database is intended to be used as a Dictionary mostly for low load
environments, the possibility of changing a Dictionary via the Web Console enables switching from a SQLite-
based Dictionary to a much more effective High Availability configuration more conveniently. Note that before
this feature was implemented, a Dictionary could be changed at DataSunrise installation stage only.
5. Improved OCR (Optical Character Recognition) Data Discovery functionality: increased performance and new file
types are supported now (refer to subs. "OCR Data Discovery" of the User Guide).

1. YugabyteDB is now supported by DataSunrise.

3. AWS DAS-based Aurora PostgreSQL database audit trailing implemented. Database activity streams provide
a near-real-time stream of the activity in your Aurora PostgreSQL cluster using the AWS Kinesis service.
DataSunrise can consume streams and display the auditing data in Audit → Transactional Trails (see Subs.
"Getting Audit Events via AWS DAS (Database Activity Streams) for Aurora PostgreSQL" of the User Guide).
4. Redshift Database trailing implemented. It enables you to get audit data collected by Redshift native audit
mechanisms (see Subs. "Configuring Audit Trail for auditing Redshift database queries" of the User Guide).
5. MongoDB (local/SMB file) trailing Implemented.
6. Using information collected by AWS S3 Inventory for Data Discovery across AWS S3 buckets is now supported.
AWS Inventory stores metadata of a “source” AWS S3 bucket in the form of an archived CSV file. To reduce traffic
consumption and operation cost, DataSunrise now can get S3 metadata with the help of Inventory instead of
using AWS API calls. The process is based on a dedicated Data Discovery Task called Crawler (see Subs. "AWS S3
Crawler" of the User Guide)

7. The Parquet file format is now supported when performing Data Discovery across AWS S3 buckets. Now you can
search for sensoitive data in Apache Hive data storage in AWS S3.
8. Snowflake web proxy implemented. Snowflake web interface now can connect to a Snowflake database through
a DataSunrise proxy to enable blocking and masking Rules work. For example, you can access your database
through DataSunrise proxy by the following address: https://<DS_Host>:7778/ instead of the former one such as
https://<Account_ID>.<Region>.azure.snowflakecomputing.com.

2.11 DataSunrise 7.2.0 features

1. Implemented searching for sensitive data (personal data, credit card numbers, driver licenses, etc) contained in
image files (JPG, GIF, PNG, TIFF, PSD). See subs. 11.3.7 "OCR Data Discovery" of the User Guide.
2. Implemented Automatic generation of Dynamic masking functions based on Lexicon values when using the
Function Call masking algorithm.
3. Implemented the possibility of simultaneous usage of multiple markers for Client Application user capturing.
Now you can use multiple types of markers for the same database Instance (including special markers like SAP
ECC, Oracle EBS and Bizagi App). This can be achieved by joining markers with logical OR.
4. Implemented DB Audit Trailing for local PostgreSQL. See subs. 9.9.8 "Using Audit Trail for auditing standalone
PostgreSQL database queries" of the User Guide.
5. Implemented DB Audit Trailing for local Neo4J. See subs. 9.9.18 "Using Audit Trail for auditing standalone

2.16 DataSunrise 6.3.1 features

Warning: since DataSunrise 6.3.1, some changes to auditing mechanisms were made that may cause auditing
results collected by previous versions of DataSunrise not to be displayed in the Transactional Trails section of
the Web Console. To display old audit data, you need to enable the showOldAuditEvents parameter in the System
Settings → Additional Parameters subsection of the Web Console. It is not recommended to keep this parameter
enabled permanently because it may lead to incorrect display of both old and latest events in the list of events.

Important: the list of Oracle grants required for getting database metadata was updated which may cause
backward compatibility issues. Refer to subs. 5.2.1 "Creating an Oracle Database User" of the User Guide for the new

1. Implemented Audit DB Trail based on XML files for Oracle and PostgreSQL: a target database collects and saves
