2. Write corresponding passages with different tones on separate index cards and shuffle them as well.
3. Distribute the mood cards to each group and place the tone cards face down in a pile.
4. Explain that each group must match the mood cards they received with the tone cards by reading the passages and determining the
appropriate tone.
5. Set a timer for five minutes for this activity.
6. After time is up, have each group share their matches and explain their reasoning.
7. Correct any mismatches and discuss why certain tones are associated with specific moods.
8. Award points to the groups based on correct matches.
