DS0207-02 Current Sink Source

The document provides documentation for the dSPACE DS0207-02 current sink and source output module. It describes the module's general functionality, connectors, modes of operation, and configuration elements. The module outputs conditioned current signals to interface with current-based sensors and is used in dSPACE hardware-in-the-loop simulation systems.

1 General Description
The dS0207 current sink source output module was designed for simulation of current interface
equipped sensors. The module is part of a compound of different dSPACE boards, which together
form a powerful testing tool, a dSPACE Hardware in the loop simulator (HIL). It is a 8 channel voltage
controlled current sink and source, each channel consisting of a separate sink and source.
The following functional block diagram shows one out of eight current output channels:

dSPACE DS0207-02 (Current Sink and Source)

Please notice, that the current sink will only work with a positive voltage with respect to system GND
and the current source only with a negative voltage with respect to +15V. The module is fully pro-
tected against voltage levels from 0V up to 50V in the standard configurations.
There are six possible modes of operation, three “main” modes, available as standard configurations
and three user definable modes, derived from the main modes. These modes make changes concern-
ing the transfer characteristic of the DS0207 possible and require additional resistors:
