CENG 160 – GRAPHICS AND COMPUTER AIDED CIVIL ENGINEERING DRAWING
EXERCISE 2 PART 2(2.5%)

As a beginner user of the CAD application, the student will learn and draw simple architectural drawings
and the other information required to produce said drawings. AutoCAD is one of the graphic/drawing
software in architectural design. This exercise aims to assess the knowledge in the practical application,
systematic drawing order, and competency in drawings software technology application.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:
1. This is an Individual exercise.
2. You have 5 days to finish this exercise.
3. Draw the ewquired orthographic architectural drawing using AutoCAD 2022 English.
4. Plagiarism is not allowed, anyone caught doing so will be given 0 including the student that helped.
5. Save the file name according to this format: Student ID No._Student Name_Section #_Exercise
2PART2.dwg.
6. Submission of dwg file will be on Blackboard/Teams under the assignments tab as follow:
- Saturday (April 15th, 2023), 11:59 PM.

7. Grade deduction applies for late submission, 10/100-point per day late. No submission will be
accepted after 3 days from due date.
8. You have only 5 attempts to submit on BB, hence, attach and name the correct dwg file carefully.
9. The student has the full responsibility that the submitted dwg folder on BB is working and include the
required drawings.
10. Any Dwg folder submitted using other versions rather than 2022 or (lower) will not be considered.
11. The student must decide on any missing dimension according to approximation.
12. The student must create the drawing in the AutoCAD 2022 English application according to the
drawings and dimensions given.
13. The student is encouraged to submit earlier than the due submission date.
EXERCISE GUIDELINES:
1. “Save As” your Exercise 02 Part 01 as Exercise 02 Part 02 and continue on the same drawings
NOTE: Do not delete any drawings from part 01. You can how ever use freeze/lock layer options.
2. Copy paste your plans for different and each elevation.
3. Template = Acadiso.dwt
4. The drawing units are in millimeters (mm).
5. Precision to be set to 0.0.
6. Make sure to set appropriate limits for the drawing.
7. Create the following NEW layers & draw everything within appropriate layers
a. South Elevation
b. West Elevation
NOTE: Use the previously created layers for Dimensions and Text during Part 01
8. The angle for all the pitched roof is 45%
9. The Door and window frames and leaves are both 50mm
10. Use the same dimension and text style created for Part 01 of the Exercise. (NOTE: The Dimension
and text style should be reasonable)
11. You must make a decent number of dimensions similar to the sample drawings attached within
this pdf
12. Make text as shown in the sample drawings (drawing name and Scale)
