Valves Adjustment
Valves Adjustment
ADJUSTMENT INSTRUCTIONS
PRELIMINARY ACTIONS
Usually, after several wrong adjustment attempts the valve block deviates from its normal
adjustments. In order to restore them or to fully adjust the initial lift function, follow the
instructions below:
Adjustments "2","3" and “5" (up accelerations and decelerations). Screw the
corresponding screws until the end and then unscrew 2 turns.
Adjustments "6" and "8" (down accelerations and decelerations). Screw the corresponding
screws until the end and then unscrew 3 turns.
Adjustments "1 ", "4", "7", "9" (levelling and full speeds). When the surface of the
adjustment screw is at the same level with the flange, you receive the initial adjustment
point. Usually for their final adjustment, two turns rightwards or leftwards at the most are
required.

The By pass valve is the most important adjustment in the block. The adjustments start from this
valve and affect the all of the up adjustments.
The adjustment of By pass valve should always be made during the operation! It depends on
the real pressure conditions, which cannot be achieved in the lab but only in the shaft.
The By pass valve is always adjusted with empty car and cold oil.
When the pump is started, and solenoids A and B energised, the unloaded car should remain
stationary at the floor for a period of 1 to 2 seconds before starting upwards. The length of this
delay is determined by the setting of adjustment 1. 'In' (clockwise) shortens the delay, 'out'
(c-clockwise) lengthens the delay.
Adjustment Check
If solenoid “A” is de-energized and the motor operates, the car must not start.
Valve “S” is already adjusted in the lab according to the prospective working pressure. The man
who carries out the installation should not change its adjustment, if it is not necessary.
Valve “S” is adjusted only after the adjustment of by pass valve. So, if the adjustment of by pass
valve changes, valve “S” must be readjusted.
In case of readjustment of valve “S” start always from its unscrewing at least by two turns.
'In' (clockwise) produces a higher, 'out' (c-clockwise) a lower maximum pressure setting. After
turning 'out', open manual lowering H for an instant.
ATTENTION ! When the elevator cannot lift the entire useful load, you should not screw
aimlessly the adjuster “S”. You should first check for any other reasons, like the By pass

adjustment, if the solenoids are magnetized etc. An aimless screwing of valve “S” can cause
function of the valve block at an uncontrolled high pressure. This could be extremely dangerous
for the normal lift function.
In cases of indirect acting lifts, if the safety gear is activated and the equivalent electric safety
switch do not operate, or if the car stumbles somewhere, then there is a possibility for the ram
to lower, leaving the car in mid-air. In a case like this the oil pressure becomes less than the
minimum working pressure. The “KS” valve prevents hydraulically the lowering of the ram when
the pressure is below a specific limit.
ATTENTION! : The “KS” valve cannot operate at the down full speed stage. It only stops the
operation of the down levelling speed, the emergency operation and the manual lowering valve.
For this reason, a safety gear contact is quite necessary (and according to the regulations). A
low-pressure switch is an additional safety measure as well.
The KS is adjusted with a 3 mm Allan Key by turning the screw K 'in' for higher pressure and
'out' for lower pressure.
Secure the cabin at a specific point and try to lower the ram using the manual lowering
valve "".
The full up speed is determined only by the pump flow and cannot be adjusted. The levelling up
speed can be adjusted according to the settings of adjustment ‘4’ and is adjusted at a rate of
10-25 % of the full up speed. A suggested levelling up speed is 0,12 m/sec.
'In' (clockwise) provides a slower, 'out' (c-clockwise) a faster up levelling.

First adjust the acceleration, with the adjustment "2". 'In' (clockwise) provides a softer
acceleration, 'out' (c-clockwise) a quicker acceleration.
- Adjustment of up deceleration ‘3’ from full to levelling speed: 'In' (clockwise) provides a
softer deceleration, 'out' (c-clockwise) a quicker deceleration.
- Adjustment of final up stop ‘5’: 'In' (clockwise) provides a softer stop, 'out' (c-clockwise) a
quicker stop.
When adjusting adjustments “3” and “5” do not change adjustment “2” because it affects
adjustments “3” and “5”.
Adjustment “5” is possible only with cold oil.
The final stop during the up travel should not be adjusted too smooth because the
temperature change may change the stop accuracy.
The down full speed “7”, can be adjusted greater than the up speed.
- 'In' (clockwise) provides a slower down speed, 'out' (c-clockwise) a faster down speed.
The down levelling speed "9" is adjusted at a speed rate 10-25% of the down full speed.
Like up travel, the suggested up levelling speed is 0,12 m/sec.
- 'In' (clockwise) provides a slower, 'out' (c-clockwise) a faster down levelling speed.
First adjust adjustment “8” for the deceleration and the final stop.
- 'In' (clockwise) provides a softer down deceleration, 'out' (c-clockwise) a quicker
deceleration.
Attention: Do not close all the way!
During and after the adjustment of “6” (down acceleration), do not change the adjustment
of “8” because it affects “6”.
- 'In' (clockwise) provides a softer down acceleration, 'out' (c-clockwise) a quicker
acceleration.

DECELERATION DISTANCE
The distance between the floor switch and the stop should be about the distance that the cabin
would cover at the full speed in one second. E.g. car speed 0,63 m/sec result in switch distance
about 0,60 m.
