PERFORMANCE TASK ON STATISTICS

SCENARIO

Currently, St. Bridget School is already in its fourth quarter for the school year 2021-
2022. As a Grade 10 student, you want to know how you can improve your performance as you
will transition to Senior High School in a few months. To do this, you decided to review your
grades in the first three quarters of this school year.

MAIN TASK

For this task you are expected to do following:

Since letter grades are given during ODL, you may estimate
its numerical equivalent by referring to its corresponding value in the
following range below:

LETTER GRADE GRADE RANGE

Excellent (E) 96 – 100
Approaching Excellence (AE) 90 – 95
Proficient (P) 85 – 89
Approaching Proficiency (AP) 80 – 84
Developing Proficiency (D) 75 – 79
Beginning Proficiency (B) 74 and below

NOTE: THE NUMERICAL GRADES THAT YOU ARE GOING TO

USE FOR THIS PERFORMANCE TASK ARE NOT OFFICIAL, AND ARE NOT THE ACTUAL

EQUIVALENT OF YOUR LETTER GRADES.

PART III: ANALYSIS

1. Based on your computations, at what quarter did you perform best? Explain.
Based on my calculations, I performed best during the third quarter of this school year.
Looking at the means in every quarter, the highest average is from the third quarter among
all the quarters with an average of 96.37.

2. Based on your computations, at what quarter did you have a most consistent performance?
How about the least consistent? Explain.
The most consistent quarter is the second quarter because it has the lowest standard
deviation of 1.64. We must take note that when the value is lower, it means that the values
are more consistent. The least consistent quarter is the first quarter with a standard
deviation of 1.90

PART IV: REFLECTIONS

1. Recalling your experiences during the past three quarters, which quarter/s do you find the
most challenging? Why?

2. What are your takeaways after completing this performance task? Which of your
practices/habits during the past quarters do you find effective? Which are not?
