PDU 8400 Programming Guide

Apply 120 VAC to the power terminals. The display will scroll the message RDY across
the display.

The factory default settings for the display inputs are found on the back of the unit.

REPROGRAMMING AN INPUT

1) Press the ENTER button once. The display will read “FLR”.

2) Press the ENTER button a second time and the display will show #1. The #1
indicates the input to be changed. If you do not wish to change input #1 use the
PLUS or MINUS buttons to select a different input. Once the display reads the
number of the input you wish to change press the ENTER button.

3) After choosing the input to be changed the display will flash the center character (left
character is reserved for the up / down arrows). Use the PLUS or MINUS buttons to
change the character. The character options are from 0-9, A-Z, *, #, or ? (please
don’t call to ask why we have a ? symbol as an option)

4) Press the ENTER button again and the right character will flash. Use the PLUS or
MINUS button again to change the character.

5) Once you are satisfied with the character choice press the ENTER button one last
time. The display will show the input number that was being changed. Now press the
SCROLL button to return to the RDY mode. Your input character has now been
changed!

RESETTING THE FACTORY DEFAULT SETTINGS

1) Press the ENTER button once. The display will read “FLR”.

2) Press the SCROLL button. The display will read “DEF”.


3) Press the ENTER button. The display will scroll the message LOAD DEFAULTS?

4) Press the ENTER button. The display will show the * symbol momentarily and then
scroll the message “RDY”. Your display unit is now reset to the factory settings.

ADJUSTING BRIGHTNESS OF THE DISPLAY

Note: The display brightness is set at the factory and should not need to be adjusted.

1) Press the ENTER button once. The display will read “FLR”.

2) Press the SCROLL button. The display will read “DEF”.

3) Press the SCROLL button again. The display will read “BRT”

4) Use the PLUS or MINUS buttons to change the brightness of the display.

5) Press the ENTER or SCROLL button. The display will read “SPD”. (SPD is used to
set the scrolling speed of the message)

6) Press the SCROLL button to return to the RDY mode.

SETTING THE SCROLL SPEED OF THE MESSAGES

1) Press the ENTER button once. The display will read “FLR”.

2) Press the SCROLL button. The display will read “DEF”.

3) Press the SCROLL button again. The display will read “BRT”

4) Press the SCROLL button again. The display will read “SPD”

5) Press the ENTER button. The display will scroll the message SCROLL SPEED.

6) Use the PLUS or MINUS buttons to change speed of the scrolling message.

7) Press the ENTER or SCROLL button to return to RDY mode.
