TOTAL MARKS : 50 marks

INSTRUCTIONS:

 Your assignment must have a cover page with your name, student number, course
name and lecturer name
 The assignment must be the work of the student and not shared or completed by any
other student and must be typed.
 Students will be penalised for plagiarising or simply copying passages from the study
notes or web sites, other texts and from another student’s assignment/project/rough
work, etc., without any referencing attached thereto.
 Students may work together but must not submit similar or identical assignments. You
must be able to show that you worked independently.
 Retain a copy of each assignment before submitting it, in case the original does not
reach the lecturer.
 Students who are mailing their assignments must ensure that the assignment
reaches the lecturer before or on the due date.
 Assignments may NOT be submitted via fax
 Your assignment MUST have references (APA method) written in alphabetical order.
 Use ARIAL -12 to type your work. Your work must be justified.

SECTION A – (Practical) [30 Marks]

Question 1

MS PowerPoint

Design a PowerPoint presentation about the 5 computer generations.


Requirements per each slide:
Slide 1: Title slide (2 Marks)
 Add the main title, “Computer generations”
 Add subtitle where you type your full name and the current date
Slide 2: Title and content slide (3 Marks)
 Add the title, “Introduction”
 Write a brief history about computers
Slide 3: Title and content slide (4 Marks)
 Add the title, “Computer generations”
 Write a list of the computer generations with a brief explanation for each
Slide 4: Title and content slide (6 Marks)
 Add the title, “Images”
 Insert a captioned image for each computer generation on this slide
Slide 5: Title and comparison slide (5 Marks)
 Add the title, “First generation vs Fourth generation”
 Provide a comparison between the first generation and the fourth-generation
computers. (give 3 points on each side)
Slide 6: Title and content slide (2 Marks)
 Write a short summary of your presentation
Additional instructions:
a. Apply an appropriate design theme to your presentation (don’t use the default theme).

b. Add transitions of your choice to slides; 2 and 4 (2 Marks)
c. Add animations of your choice to slides; 3 and 5. (4 Marks)
SECTION B – (Practical) [20 Marks]

Question 2
MS Access
Create a database named “school.mdb” and perform the following tasks.

a. Create a table named “student info” having following tables structure. (6 Mars)

b. Fill at least 5 records. (4 Marks)


c. Prepare a query to display all the records and names should be in ascending order.

d. Prepare a query named “senior” to display records including fields name, class, sec,
rollno, status, photo and value of “status” field must be senior. (4 Marks)
e. Prepare a report of all the fields of above table. (2 Marks)
