INTRODUCTION
Pronouns, prepositions and connectors are essential to express ourselves in writing and
orally. There are many of them in a speech, and used correctly they can expand the
discussion and fluently present a specific topic. Regardless of the degree of difficulty,
these can be used in study texts, research, and in everyday life to give value to our ideas.

INDICATIONS
1. Complete with the correct pronoun for each exercise:
a) His name is James. He is a doctor.
b) That pen is mine It is not yours
c) This is my bedroom. That is hers.
d) Please make yourself at home while you wait.
e) She is at home

2. Answer the questions using the correct pronoun or preposition:


a) How is the weather in your country?
I’m not sure, but I think the weather is sometimes hot and some days very cold.
b) Would you like a coffee or a tea?
I’d like a coffee, please.
c) Which city do you live?
I live in Mexico City.
d) What time you regularly eat dinner?
I have dinner at 8:00 pm, but sometimes even later.
e) What year you born?
I was born in 1998.

3. Write down 5 connectors according to the topic you learn at Unit 1 and write
what is each used for. For example: “and” to connect two similar ideas or to add nouns.

2. Because: It reveals the reason or beginning of something.
3. So: It’s used to emphasize a quantity, quality or the result of something.
4. Or: Give different options or consequences to an idea.
5. For: It's used to express benefit, purpose, or duration.

I’m Lucy. I work 1) in a hospital, I’m a Nutriologist. I work 2) from 9:00 a.m. 3) to 6:00 p.m.

to get there, 7) because of the traffic. I have many patients some of them follow their diets,
