    National University is pleased to offer free access to SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) to all

    students.
    Please see the instructions below on where to access the software and how to download and install it.
    If you have any issues with the process, please contact the Service Desk at [email protected] or (888)

    The Service Desk only provides support with installation. The Academic Success Center provides support
    in using the tool.

    SPSS Software Download

    Log into NCUOne and access


    the University Services
    Module from your course list.

    From the Table of Contents,


    select the Student
    Technology Resource
    Center.

    Scroll down the list of files,
    select the appropriate
    version of SPSS for your
    computer, and click on the file to
    download.

    If you are unsure which


    version your Windows
    computer is, click HERE.

    If prompted by your
    computer, select Save.
    (Name and file size will vary
    by the version of SPSS that
    you select)

    The SPSS files are in a compressed Zip file format and will need to be unzipped before use. The files are
    also quite large and may take longer to download than usual.

    Windows and Mac computers have built-in programs that can unzip the files for you, so no special
    software is required for this process.

    Windows Users

    Once the download is


    complete, open the Zip file.

    You may be prompted to


    select a program to open the
    file; if so, select File Explorer.

    Once you open the folder,


    select Extract All to unzip the
    files.

    You may be prompted to


    Select a Destination for the
    files; the Desktop is a
    convenient location, as the
    files can be removed once
    installation is complete. To do
    this, select Browse and then
    Desktop.

    Click Select Folder, then
    Extract.

    Once the process is done, the


    files will be displayed; double
    click the SPSS**.exe to
    initiate the installation
    process.

    Downloading IBM SPSS

    After installing the files, you will


    be prompted to activate SPSS.
    Select the option for Launch
    License Wizard.

    Move through the InstallShield


    Wizard until you get to the
    section: Enter Codes.
    Identify the code for the specific
    version that you downloaded:

    (Please refer to the “Student


    Technology Resource” page for
    the current license)

    Paste the code into the top box


    and then click Add.

    Downloading IBM SPSS

    The code should now be visible


    in the bottom box. Click Next.

    If successful, the Internet


    Authorization Status page
    should report "Successfully
    processed all codes." Click
    Next.
    In the next window, click Finish.
    The process is complete.
